Happy (late) 10th Anniversary Undertale !!

Wasnt able do anniversary art as was talking break at time , but now did one , and decided to do our signature CMY subtractive model overlay style !

colors are painted on their own layers individually and set to multiply , with lighter tone being 50% opacity

heres what layers look like

this one is one of our favorite color overlay artworks did !

So little tip and insight , how we do these kind overlay artworks is paying attention to silhouette and shape , if look closely , lot of elements are thick , angular , or smooth curve , and follow the same shape as each other . clear shapes .

When doing this style , we use thicker lines as thin lines can easily become eyestrain or hard to look at

With specifically using these base colors (RGB light which mixes into CMY) , we also have to keep in mind how these different colors naturally have different "strength" in brightness , Cyan here being the absolute brightest and Blue being darkest , so can create brightness gradient

So along with color overlay , we also had to balance out the piece by color and also knowing How the color mixes by heart

It may not look it , but this style is very technical to work both as overlaid as well as being a solo piece

when just character alone you wouldn't be able tell they can overlap , and when overlapped they create a new flowing piece 🐕
