The reason I’ve been fucking around with bookbinding this past year is because the instant I read F&F I knew I wanted a copy in my hands, and the more I got to know ali, the more important it was to me that made it myself. A labour of love for a labour of love, and I’m thrilled it now has a home on one of their many bookcases.
This isn’t actually F&F itself, but a collection of smutty short stories. I went with them first as they were perfect for a smaller (200pg/A6) project before I tackled the core story -- and as a nod to Hugo’s fondness for erotic literature 😂
F&F, Gambits and Fate are currently sitting at ~650 A5 pages typeset. I still need to create a frontispiece and various page ornaments, but I'm itching to do a test run soon. I can hear my antique printer sweating already.
