It’s nearly mid-Autumn, and that means it’s time for fun, outdoor activities to celebrate the change in seasons. The weather is cooling down, leaves are falling, and hot cocoa is finally back in fashion. Everyone is craving to get outside and enjoy the weather before it gets too chilly!
Residents of the Valley are in luck! As of today, the local apple orchard has opened up, allowing all the locals to go apple picking! Take your character, alone or with a companion, to gather some fresh, perfectly-ripe apples. Whether they wish to eat them raw or bake them into a pie, the apples are sure to please!
If apples aren’t your character’s favorite, or they simply want more to do, right next to the orchard is a pumpkin patch! Locally-grown pumpkins are available in all shapes and sizes to bring home. You can use them in a recipe, carve them, or simply display them around the house! The choice is yours, but remember to bring a friend if you plan to take home one of the big ones!
As the carnival comes to a close, there seems to still be a fair amount of prizes left. So for the final day, a wheel has been set up to ensure everyone can win something!

As summer’s coming to a close, and autumn is on the horizon, what’s a better way to end one season and welcome a new than with a carnival?
There will be a number of different rides, snacks, and of course, games! If you’re feeling brave, maybe ask that cutie you’ve been talking to for a romantic ride on the Ferris Wheel? Or to the fireworks show ending the night!
The carnival will be in town from Friday August 28th through until Sunday September 6th! This gives you all a little more than a week to enjoy the celebrations! We’ll be posting different games for you to try out, and some ideas for your date!

Dylas wasn’t paying attention when the last wave crashed into the left side of his body. Normally, he wouldn’t stand so far out into the ocean to fish, but it was so hot that day and the water was so soothing that he couldn’t help himself.
He felt his fishing pole slip out of his hands and saw as it rode the smaller waves back to shore. Dammit... As he turned to follow his rod, he noticed the water recede. Slowly, he looked back behind him, and sure enough, a large wave was coming his way.
N-No! Dylas lifted his knees higher and ran the best he could back to the beach, but it was too late. He felt a wall of water engulf his upper body and suddenly he was tumbling frantically underwater. After a few seconds, he was able to gain his footing in the sand and popped his head out, coughing and spitting out the salty water.
He shook his head like a horse quickly to get the water in his ears, and he sighed. Well, at least it’s a nice day today.
With the weather rising steadily, and no rain in sight, it’s probably a good idea to head on down to the local beach to cool off! The few members of the Orchid Valley Planning Committee (OVPC) have come up with just the thing!
This weekend (July 31st to August 2nd) we’re asking all of the residents (new and old) to come down to the beach to celebrate the summer! We’ll be having a contest, a barbecue, and tons of games for the beach! The schedule is as followed:
Friday July 31st: Meet-and-Greet. We’ll be posting a few prompts throughout the day to get you all going! Make a starter and don’t forget to tag it as OVbeachDay! This is your time to get to know one another better, and to catch up with old friends! Who knows what might happen?
Saturday August 1st: Swimsuit Contest. Either head out to buy those latest “in” swimming trunks, or pull out that old bikini from last year! Whatever you’re most comfortable, and you think will get the most votes!
Sunday August 2nd: Bonfire. End the weekend with fireworks and roast some marshmallows over a bonfire. OVPC wanted to go out with a bang! This is another great opportunity to get closer to one another, and maybe someone with the use of magical powers could help make the fireworks one to remember...

This event is completely optional, but if you are participating in the Swimsuit Contest, please send us a message you’d like to compete. You will be either drawing your character in their bathing suit, or submitting a picture of what their suit looks like! (If you are choosing the second option, submit a full body picture of your character as well, so there’s a side by side comparison!) Please make sure you submit your entry no later than Friday July 31st. We will post all entries as well as a poll for everyone to vote on who they think looks the best or has the best swimsuit!
If you have magical abilities, and would like to “help” (or hurt!) the fireworks, please send us a message stating so! If you’d like to help, tell us how you’d like to do so! I.E.: “Hi! Witch would like to HURT the fireworks and make it so the final explosion only sizzles to disappoint everyone!” or “Marian would like to HELP the fireworks! She’ll make a heart and rose design appears!” The sky’s the limit, and if you need some suggestions feel free to message us for ideas!
