yes. behind a cloud of smoke and sunglasses precariously at the end of her nose, annie's eyes narrowed. here we go. this was exactly why she didn't like drifting too close to the city. sure, you got wider reach with shorter bandwidth - but if it wasn't corps, it was someone with an opinion on how you were doing your thing! what, she's too mean to the fascists when she's riding their soundwaves? too much gore and death in her news bulletins? annie grinned wide, leaning forward on her hand and removing her sunglasses entirely.

what about antiques interest oswald? the history? the value? the notoriety? the craftsmanship? does he have a preference for a certain era or region of origin or type (clocks, furniture, silverware, etc.)?

though he may come across as cold, oswald is in fact deeply sentimental and at heart a romantic. what draws him to antiques is their uniqueness, informed by their personal provenance. the same could be said of art, jewelry, etc., more broadly. he enjoys things that are both aesthetically pleasing in their appearance or make and are unusual in some respect. the latter can occasionally be even more enticing to him than the former, i.e., he is more appreciative of a piece that may be objectively ugly but is rare or one-of-a-kind, than a piece that is beautiful but common.

of course, he’s able to separate his own personal preferences from his business, and has no issue dealing pieces that he considers tacky, crass, low-brow, etc., so long as they are profitable. in fact, he can get a petty enjoyment out of it, selling what he considers to be worthless or cheap to someone for an exorbitant price.

the question of whether he has a preference for a particular era, region or type is an interesting one, as his business(es) are each furnished in such a way as to cultivate a particular perception in the person he’s doing business with, rather than to reflect his own taste. that said, i’d describe his taste as pretty agnostic; it is quite expansive and eclectic, driven often by his desire for a particular object, which can veer into a compulsive need to ‘acquire’ said object that is difficult to resist. not that he tries. does enjoy a good bird motif, though.

it was a matter of patience. and cindy knew that going into... whatever this thing between her and athene is. she doesn't care much for labels anyway, cindy's main concern is mostly for how athene feels about things. rushing to find a word for it would only stress the poor girl out more.

" i know, angel, " cindy says softly, her words always gentle when not playful. she feels the urge to reach out for athlene's hands as a gesture of support, but restrains the impulse. (she'd probably be too nervous to say no anyway.)
