The dynamic of Owen using Andy as his “life experiences” avatar and Andy’s (grudging) willingness is fantastic.
Just imagining Owen asking Tosh to track Andy’s phone so he can pop out of no where with chips and crisps and random food stuffs that he wants to watch Andy eat.
Owen and Andy are the duo/strange friendship(?) I never knew I needed. Yet here we are now, two days later, during which I have listened to all four of their audiobooks. Bless them.
Andy never has to pay for food ever again - what a life... Where can I get myself an Owen? I want one. Just popping up from time to time and bringing free food...
Fic title: Three Jellyfish, Two Swordfish, One Andy Davidson (yeah, I don’t know either, I’m sorry 💛)
OweAndy case fic. Andy is enjoying what should be some holiday time on the beach. Only now he’s happened across a series of mysterious disappearances from boats, on what is supposed to be his well earned holiday time. Each of the boats is found empty with either a jellyfish or a swordfish left the place of the people on the vessels…and a note to the effect of “one more” “two more” (etc) Who…or rather what’s behind it? Well thankfully for one Andy Davidson, a certain deadman can’t exactly take up sun rays, and is set to help him on the case

In his defence, I would totally make lots of jokes, references, etc about me being dead too if I were him. You know, to cope with … that.
I bet the chocolate is either with (extra) salt or chili.
You know I make a lot of jokes about how James Goss is kind of an (incredibly) inconsistent writer, and I definitely have my problems with him. But god I love the Owen and Andy dynamic he created.
He took two characters that literally never interacted. I’d have to check but are they ever even in the same frame? I don’t think they are?
And you know what? Not only did he make it work. He added onto Owen’s character themes. Contrasting Owen’s struggles with what his death means for him with someone that just has the exact opposite vibes. A sunny person that’s generally pretty optimistic against Owen’s cynicism and hardened shell. It’s the classic buddy cop/odd couple dynamic. But like…the way it’s done just adds to both of their characters.
Gooseberry kind of drops ball, like I get what it was trying to do but hmmmm….I’ll wait for to the follow up to the cliff hanger there. But god I just love their dynamic. OweAndy supremacy.
