I was going to suffer and head to Miami this week to enjoy #artbaselmiami alongside @standartemariacorreas but decided I should stay closer to home and help @lukeecrawley install our newest sculpture in Kansas City at @galleriekc then be in Indy for a big night at @harrisoncenterarts for First Friday. Plus we’re installing another exciting @owensandcrawley commission next week so there’s work to be done. Maria, thank you so much for your faith in my work and now #OwensandCrawley work too! “Topography” is installed and our clients are thrilled as are @lukeecrawley and I!!! This project has been wonderful from the very beginning. It all started with or exhibition, “Quantum Leap,” at @harrisoncenterarts sponsored by @inhumanities this February. The clients, Harold and Jessica, saw our lights and wanted to know what else we could do. I walked them through a number of potential sculptural lighting solutions and then they trusted us to play with a design and get back to them. We based this sculpture off of the answers to a number of questions we had about them, their family and upbringing. Here she is. And I’m officially middle-aged now. Spent last night partying it up with @patternmagazine and then I wake up this morning to buy a camper for @nikkiowens7 . Here’s the good news- 1, I have a mobile art studio now, already warn in by fellow artist and friend @jeddorseyart . 2, #OwensandCrawley now has a mobile public art HQ @lukeecrawley ! 3, we can now probably hang with our camper friends! @craigdodgelile @mickijo_indy (at Indianapolis, Indiana)
