He herds you back towards the waterfall, mirroring every step until falling water tickles at your skin, pouring over your naked shoulders. Even then, he doesn't stop his advance. You reach behind you, feeling for the rock, for stability—

And find open air behind the downpour, instead.

“Deny me.” It's phrased as a demand, but just beneath the surface... you swear you hear an unspoken plea. “While I still see reason. Before I am lost in something incredibly selfish.”

sanguinary is a short story set in an ambiguous historical time period (vaguely 1800's). kind of an au of an au, inspired by a certain truce storyline. 🫵

except no truce, only evil blood-drinking vampire skeletons who seduce you into attending a fancy party. and then of course the vampire lord with compulsion powers who chases you through the woods, captures you, and makes you his most beloved thrall 😏

the latest chapter was great! it made me think that Sweetpea should get to visit her friends, but bring Nightmare along in a disguise (read: it's just a fancy suit [and maybe eyepatch] because he refuses to be less than the best dressed person in the room) and then she has to explain who he is and why she's been missing for so long hehehe. i think it'd be hilarious for Nightmare to be left alone with a suspicious and disapproving Toriel, carefully avoiding lying to her while trying to endear himself to her.

once again, wonderful chapter! it's always a treat to read, and i eagerly await the next ^^

I think there may be a chance that Sweetpea gets to see her friends one more time, but it'll be much later in the story. Although I do love the image of Nightmare sweating nervously while left alone with Toriel.
