The Other Path (Earth 3)

It was always an inevitability that resources from planets would deplete over time. This even extended to galaxies, cosmos and whole universes. Eventually, a resource or multiple resources would deplete and the world would either adapt to the loss, move on or try for an alternative like what was lost. When it came to the Crime Syndicate, there were many resources that had been used in order to complete their goals. And now, with projections looking into the next few decades, they would need to consider alternatives.

He however, had another idea. While his Earth was facing a limited supply, there were other universes that would have exactly what they needed. He opted to go alone. There was no need to tell the Syndicate about his plans as this could be used for gain. The Favor Bank was still strong and he would be damned if he didn’t utilize this to his advantage.

Even in the mid to high levels of Neo-Gotham, this version wasn’t as clean. His suit scanned the area coldly. There were several locations he could go to. The cave? No, he would surely run into security and unwanted attention. If he wanted to play his ace, he’d save it for later. This so called Metro-Tower? Perhaps. Though alerting the whole League to his whereabouts would not be good. That would be a back up if the cave proved fruitless.

Gotham City housed several libraries and data banks from private investors. One such location happened to have been the government supplier for the long defunct “Terrific Trio”. Housing several computers, servers and memory banks filled with exabytes of information, this was the ideal place to start with what he needed. Sneaking in was easy enough. Noxious, odorless gas to slowly stop the guards and anyone who spotted him...well the Razorrangs were excellent in cutting through just about anything. The mess was still a small issue.

Finally arriving at the main hub, the Owlman moved to the computer and began to plug in a few flashdrives. This would be a start to gathering the information he needed. But as his gadgets worked there, Terry would need to look up what was different. He began to look up Gotham history. What had changed here?

Thomas, I'm looking through some old files. You knew Dr. Elliot before he became a problem?

Hearing the name, Thomas instinctively glanced back at one of the trophy cases in the cave, one containing what many assumed to be one of the Owl’s many disguises, what appeared to be a latex mask in the likeness of Thomas Wayne Jr.. Many clear thinkers would often wonder why Thomas would need a mask of his own face; Thomas would simply smirk and inform them that it wasn’t a mask.

“You are half-right, Terry. I have known Elliot for a long time, but I do not recall a time where he was not a problem. At Gotham Academy, he would always follow Bruce and I around at recess or after school, try to be friends with us, and more often than not his father's association with my father meant we often had to deal with him around the house during their private meetings. His obsession with us was unsettling even then, but to this day I do not know which one of us was the true target.”

“I was more than relieved when we began seeing less of him, it was one of the few ‘silver linings’ to the demise of my family...after returning to Gotham in my twenties, I reconnected with Tommy for the sake of establishing a cover identity, thinking he might be of some use to me, and for a time he was, but he was too...clingy. For example, I made one public statement decrying the actions of the Owlman, he began to associate with anti-Syndicate militias. I start to expand the weapons and military armament division of WayneCorp, he took up an obsession with firearms.”

“This was accompanied by several attempts to get in close with me, he would find himself randomly in the same building as me, just so happen to own identical suits and cars to mine. I cut ties with him completely after one night at a fundraiser in the Compound where I discovered him high on his surgical drugs and having broken into Bruce's old room, which had been sealed for nearly twenty years...I would have killed him then and there if Alfred and Jim had not pried my hands off of his throat, and unfortunately the guests saw enough to make me the prime suspect should he mysteriously disappear.”

I can always get you an Owlbunker and a secondary Eyrie for you.

That is rather tempting. However I am more interested in the field of surveillance at this time. Division-94 of the Syndicate informs me that a .751% increase in their budget allotment has a high potential of leading to the creation of a reconnaissance satellite with the ability to read DNA from space. Though I cannot divulge at this time why such a device would be more important than a second headquarters or a covert-shelter.

Mission Success (Earth 3)

“And I think that stops that little power play our thieves tried to pull” Terry said as he watched his men, paid members of the police, take away the honorable thieves away. He smirked and glanced over at his ally. “You did well.”

"Owlman." The Talon approached him as she took off her mask. "We've got a problem. Jester King and some of his groupies infiltrated one of our Talon hideouts. Only twenty survivors, after the ones with too serious of injuries were put out of misery. There had to be two hundred in there." She explained, glancing around for her own safety.

Of course the Jester King had tried to destroy one of the Talon hideouts. Terry remained silent before straighening up and glancing over at his ally. “He’s certainly getting more adventurous in his attempts to overthrow me.” That would need to be changed. “Did he gain anything else?”

So they're about the same personality wise?

//Well, not quite. In the Beyond-verse, Thomas still has the same goals and the same system of values, but he has changed due to the limitations of his old age. For example, since he can’t lash out at someone like he used to, he’s become more patient, more withdrawn at times, and he’s mostly accepted that he’s better off ordering others to carry out hits and acts of intimidation, rather than handling business personally.

Also, he doesn't have quite the same pride and honor as he used to, mostly due to being old and tired, but also due to the fact he knows he has a rather limited time left in his current physical-state and doesn't want to waste any of it.

OOC: So that Earth 3 Thing

Big spoilers on "Reverse World" the almost year old topic I did showing just how crazed Terry got in Earth 3, but also fleshing out the Justice Underground and the villains of this twisted Gotham City. It was loads of fun and sadly, there were some causalities. During the final fight, Earth 3 Willie attempted to stop Owlman in a collapsing building so mainverse Willie and Terry could get away.

You've probably seen me still do stuff with Owlman Beyond so yes, Terry did survive. And Willie? He died right?

Let's just say Terry found a use for his little "problem".
