The Doors Are Open
He was done at long last. He had gotten notice yesterday of the big news. Bennett had signed the paper and now he was getting out. No longer would he be stuck in Arkham. He would be sure to leave anything he didn’t need for anyone to nab.
With all the incidents happened and the good press he had gotten with stopping two major issues, the board had decided to let Davis out, but that didn’t mean it would be like last time. It would be discussed later. Gathering a box filled with books and even that drawing Ruth Mercer had made. A blanket and a few other gifts here and there were also crammed into the box. Everything else would be for the inmates he figured.
Leaving his cell, he could see a very sour looking Officer Collins. Ever since the lawsuit began, Davis could see the dreg getting harsher, but not doing his usual tricks. He wanted to be vicious, but with all the media attention, it was a terrible idea to cause another problem. He glowered at Davis and Davis shot him a dirty look too. He had heard him mutter to another CO that chances were, Davis would mess up yet again and get thrown into the Power House as opposed to Arkham.
He certainly hoped not, but Collins was having a hard time getting anyone to listen. Several inmates from the sound of it were getting out soon and maybe he’d see some good, friendly faces on the outside. Maybe he wouldn’t be alone...especially with Willie Watt coming to pick him up.
