It's HARD to Live your life dimming your light for so long, Trying to fit into the molds of society, of people around you, of safety and survival. I never even knew it was survival to fit in. But then I thought about it 👇🏼 When I was little, I knew my dad didn't want me. He wanted a boy. Someone to play football with, to coach, to play sports with, fish, hunt, etc. Do "man things." He was so excited when my brother was born. SO excited. I remember being a pre-teen, and I looked at what the boys wore. ✅ Baggy graphic t-shirts ✅ Jean shorts ✅ Nike tennis shoes ✅ Bulky, dark sports watches I'd slick my hair back into a tight ponytail. I paid attention to what he liked to do, to watch, etc. I took up watching football on Saturdays and Sundays. (And if you know me now, developed an obsession for it!) I started going out to the garage to hang out with him while he lifted weights and made new fishing lures out from scratch. I learned to be one of the guys. 🌟 Survival. 🌟 And I did this all my life. But there comes a time when 🔥 THAT MOLD BREAKS 🔥 And you start to realize who you really are vs what you've used to get by. For me? That was realizing that I don't belong to anyone, anywhere. I belong to myself. I don't have to worry anymore about outgrowing people, Because if I'm meant to outgrow them then that's okay. The only person I have to make sure I'm fully comfortable with is me, Because I see me every single day. . . .
