Chapter 2 of (watch me and you) make something new has FINALLY been completed, after so so so much effort, I am finally delivering on what I promised all those months ago i.e fluff, but with much hinting at wider, exciting things, but for now, lets all just enjoy Edvard and Zillah being all loved up.

Thanks as usual to my beta @postalninja for the wrangling and to everyone who has cheered on this bloody series since it started so innocuously with people jumping off cliffs and thinking that mad scientist might be cute after all.

And despite everything I said the last few months there will be a part 6, because I owe Kasimir a story, and I should fill in all the gaps that I introduced into the watch me universe with this story, but after that story I am probably done (as much as I'll ever be done with this monster of a story).

This has been so much fun and I love everyone who has read and commented and kudoed and messaged me about this, I'm so glad I'm not just screaming into the wind on this one.

edvard/zillah for the ship asks? :D

What made me ship it?

Okay so the thing that was the catalyst was the moment in the Astor gambit when Jane did the flashback to say that Zillah taught Edvard how to cliff dive and they made a day of it, but it probably came from the first bloody trailer where they bicker about the line shooter catching on fire, and just because...they're SO hot??? I've written before about how Edvard and Zillah are similar because they're both choosing to become criminals out of economic need and frustration with making money the conventional way (compared to Kasimir and Eleanor who are career criminals and Lilith and Barnaby who are toffs on a lark), and they're both hyper competent with huge blindspots, but also because of Edvard's distracting moustache and nuclear charm and Zillah's huge muscles and inherent goodness...just they are brilliant characters who deserve to kiss a LOT.

What are your favourite things about the ship?

The care they have for each other, the flirting, how hot they are and how they tolerate each others foibles but also support each other in their dumb shit and also obviously fancy each other, but also please see my 45,000 word manifesto about how they are mfeo, watch me.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't think so...I'm very sure that all my opinions are correct. I know it won't be canon, but also that is why I write all the fanfiction.

The ghostly japes fic is here!!!! and it is some of my BEST work and inexplicably 11.5k, when I was so sure it would be like, 7 tops, but this really got away from me, which is a lot for a pairing I didn't consider plausible until a few weeks ago. God this series, it continues to make me feel too many things.

It is part of the wider "watch me" series, but only really the previous story, (watch me) keep it together, is important, but you should get the gist without it.

Please leave me a comment if you enjoy it, I really, really love this piece and am so emotionally wrung out from it I'm not above begging.

I am so nearly done with parts 3 and 4 of the watch me series, ox-fam.

(Now if someone can give me a written down source of how Zillah's surname is spelled I'd be thriving. The AO3 listing is Bruseau but then on one of the later episodes Jane definitely puts a d at the end...)

I was waiting for the final episodes before I committed to finishing my oxventure in the dark zilvard/sciencepuncher/whatever were calling it series and I am so glad I did because with the bickering and the marvellous mechanical man-parts and the whole mega-geth lore I'm firing on everything, it's all falling into place, oh yeah let's do this baybeyyyyy.
