After a sleepless, coughing night and a failed vet visit this morning we ended up at the emergency vet. Odie received an echo cardiogram, xrays and an overnight stay ☹️ It has been confirmed that he does NOT have CHF or any heart disease. He has lung disease causing scarring of his lungs. It’s is also thought that he may have a blood clot in his lungs creating the distress. Lung disease is good but bad. While not heart disease, which is treatable, it’s bad because lung disease isn’t very treatable. He’ll be in the hospital at least overnight. At this point we are looking for him to feel better without the need for oxygen. It’s not a very good prognosis But Odie is one strong pupper. I will know more tomorrow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and Odie’s (healthy) heart. Your support and love are what fuel us everyday in good and bad times. Please keep the love and prayers coming! Odie needs them now more than ever! 😢 Was in North #Richmond last night 1st time in awhile. That's where things started for my mom's side in #California. Got me to reminiscing. Been over 10 years since I lost my maternal #Grandmother #MandyBellDixon who was besties with #MayaAngelou I remember all her stories ,her garden , her perfume, her laugh, her jokes, her advice, her food ☺ 2 years ago (feels like yesterday) i was @ hospital, by bed side with my mom & whole fam. Sadly, My aunt @GeriHopson8 passed on. I recall early days at her house in #EastOakland getting in trouble w @biggmann916 A Few months before that, My uncle "June" died the day the @Warriors #Warriors won that first ring in 2015. I remember walking through #Roaracle celebrating and then getting the text in the middle of it. Time slowed down. He was a musician,singer. He used to bring me to shows and the studio to freestyle for hours with his band. I was banned from his funeral 😠 Few years Before Granny passed my mom's youngest sister died of #Lupus I remember i snuck my son @Booster_Vouxx on #Oakland #greyhound in his car seat , to the family Thanksgiving dinner in #Sacramento She was so excited to see me as a grownup young man & w/ young baby D. She was very successful: AaL singer, performer, did theater and had her own business. Her last days she carried an #oxygenTank everywhere and had a violent cough. I was crushed to lose auntie Samantha. So was my mom. Now my mom (who as the oldest, helped raise my aunt's and unc) + her last living sister (on Dixon side) are struggling w major #health issues. Back in the day, we were all so close but these sudden deaths, obstacles & challenges many black families go through, just put a strain on all our bonds and closeness over the years. Just made it more difficult to keep in touch. All we know is hard work and struggle. My generation did our best to keep the family solid. B4 most of the fam moved to #Sac All #Holidays &much of my younger years, were spent with my Dixon elders cuzzos in Oakland #SanFrancisco #NorthRichmond These years shaped me into the man I am today. I'm so grateful they fought,did they best for me and my cousins to have a better life. Miss them all. Rip 😭 (at Sacramento, California)
