Ugh that latest Greer ask reminds me about something I'm pretty sure I actually ALREADY ASKED. Like I asked it myself, I think??? But I can't for the love of me find it NOR find the answer??? Or maybe I dreamt it?

I correctly remembered that Greer's romance HAS to start with a fwb aspect, but what I'm interested in is if we'll be able to have a Sky who does that because they crush on him. So like, they don't expect anything from him, and this is a "it's better than nothing, right?" mindset? It's a kind of dynamic I'm very interested in generally speaking, especially considering I'm not interested in MCs who'd have sex with just anyone, but I feel like we don't see it nearly enough in general?

Especially because Greer became famous before Sky even decided to be an actor in Hollywood

Like I feel like for Greer specifically they can definitely have had a crush on him from watching all his movies, seeing his pictures on magazines and everything fanboys and girls did with their fav actors

(Maybe even make it a bit dark to give an option to fuck him because you want him to like you—it would make sense in a place like Hollywood where people are used to using their bodies sexually for different reasons; and then later on telling Greer they weren’t ready to do that but they wanted to please him?? Options options thanks konoi you got me thinking)

If each of your characters could make one wish, (like the one wish willow, from Obssesion) whose wish do you think would go wrong, and why?

I can’t answer for most of wwc except for Nia because that is spoilery

Now by wrong I’m guessing you mean like the movie where it’s a be careful what you wish for scenario and not a “this person wished the end of the world and got it”

Nia would wish her mom had taken her from that town but she would also lose Crowny and who knows how bad Crowny’s mental state would’ve gotten if they didn’t have a friend all those years? Or if her mom didn’t leave exactly how Nia imagined it, Nia could be dead

Lazlo’s would go bad quickly. He would wish Luce wasn’t his adopted sibling. Which would likely erase Luce from existence. Or he would wish his real parents never abandoned him and then he would meet them and they would turn out abusive assholes

Ashley’s might go wrong too. Cause obviously there’s many trans people who like being trans and don’t wish to be reborn as a cis person. Ashley does want that and if she got it, she would be burdened with other issues and wouldn’t be able to be the director she is likely being “reduced” to an actress or a script writer with no credit

Here’s a question about OYHS characters. Once the characters are old and having to deal with curiosity about their lives, who’s writing a memoir about themselves? Who’s paying a ghostwriter and who’s leaving their legacy alone whether for privacy reasons or for the public to do with it as they will? I’m on a spree of Old Hollywood memoirs and some of them drop some pretty wild lore 👀

Greer condones biographies but he isn’t writing a memoir or having it ghost written. He doesn’t care to and he doesn’t read or write

Magenta rather prefers her legacy to stand on its own without needing private life for context

Jack would write a memoir and try to not make it so depressing for other young black boys like him

Ashley, hell no and no biographies have been with her consent

Renata cannot legally do it because all the people she has dirt on will sue her to death

…

That doesn’t mean a tell-all book hasn’t come out in the 70s about a lot of secrets 😌

What I find interesting thinking about the industry and roles changing as Sky gets older is the difference that might be there for a male and female Sky. Since male actors generally had a longer run before they aged out of romantic and leading roles because a forty year old actor was considered distinguished while a forty year old actress just became ‘old.’ A lot of the women once they turned forty or so ended up transitioning into television or theatre- or they could get stuck playing mother roles or doing hagsploitation films. (The actresses who come to mind right now for breaking out of that curse were Joan Crawford and Katharine Hepburn but they were also very dedicated workaholics)

I’m babbling but I’m really just curious on what the difference between male and female Sky will look like! There’d likely be some disparity unless…pretty boy Sky experiences twink death 😔

The book I’m reading touches a bit about this by saying female stars usually had 10 “good” years before the studio loses interest in them and begin giving them secondary mom roles or loaning them out to other studios

Omg imagine if I give male Sky a twink death…

I should add an alcohol and drug stat to be honest and have that affect Sky’s career cause they might be able to keep that relevancy into older age like Joan Crawford and Clark Gable

I think the disparity will be very obvious when f!sky gets offered a mom role in their 30s while m!sky starts having movies with younger women who could be his daughter in his 40s (Audrey Hepburn being young as hell always paired with men who were 15+ older than her)

Will it cover Sky's having kids, if we want to?

When I say "cover" I don't mean going into detail or making a focus, but giving us the option and just having it to the side, don't know if I am making sense.

Yep! Sky will be able to have kids, either by getting pregnant (by their current partner or lavender marriage) or adoption or surogacy (ik current day it’s very controversial but tbh in Sky’s time that wasn’t a common idea to view it as bad)

There will be some time spent on the kids cause I realized I can make children more palatable for me to write if I do it under the lens of “how much could being career driven and famous affect your relationship with a child?”

So many stars weren’t good parents because 1) the idea that parents not only needed to provide shelter but also emotional connection is relatively new 2) fame takes up a lot of time and it’s hard balancing that with being a parent—Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are good examples of trying to have it all but their career takes up so much space)

I think Greer would suck at disciplining his kids, he would love them so much and would hate to see them dad or angry at him

Since the orphanage was pretty rough I would say he would be too complacent with his kids as he wished he could’ve had with his own parents
