someone inexplicably donated three of these hats to the non-profit clothing bank I work at? no clue what it means, but I feel like there's a non-binary pun in there somewhere
Tim Burton’s Labyrinth Madrid
I explain how it works under the cut. The photos are uploaded out of order (except for the first two). I’m only going to say that, at the beginning, they choose between four doors for you. Also, you can’t take photos of the art, just the sculptures. And no, the doors have no clue of what you’re going to find behind them.
There were Oompah Loompas everywhere.
Great, we got the door of clowns.
Safety first, I guess.
What kind of fruit do you think this tree has? Maybe mints?
No, it wasn’t cold here.
Here neither. But that’s a great coat.
Okay, I got to see Emily, I’m happy now.
Thanks for the creepy memories, Oyster Boy.
Poor soldier got lost.
Can we appreciate the details of this costume?
Bottom line? Well, the original drawings were great, the figures as well (although most of them are of Johnny Deep, of course), you have Danny Elfman’s music in the background... but the rooms were lacking a certain “Burton-like” feeling and it felt really short. Also, there’s a lot of rooms that you can’t see, but it’s not like you miss half the exhibition. If you’re a big fan of Tim Burton and his movies, you’re going to have a good time. However, it could’ve been a little... more.
Spoilers about how it works under the cut.
this dog is a toy hoarder sleeping on all the bones 😂
pug life!
Commodity fetishism gets a hold of me once in a while, too. When we left russia, we had to leave so many personal belongings behind because we could only carry two bags each and needed to stuff them with whatever remnants of our former lives we deemed absolutely necessary to take with us. I still miss some of the books I opted out of packing with me: there was a pair of Poes, one with prose and one with poetry, Good Omens (bought it cheap back when the concept for the Amazon TV-series wasn't even on the horizon and finished it right by the time the show rolled in) a few Philip K. Dicks (including The Man in the High Castle) I never got to read but really wanted to, and, yes, this standalone collection by Tim Burton. Looking back, I think I did pack it at first but decided to put it out at the last moment to conserve space. Shouldn't have done it; it wouldn't have taken up much anyways but sure would have brightened up my day right now had I taken it with me.
So here's actually a lovely little poem book that I was given a long while ago. Still love it to death though. Original Story can be found here:http://www.am...
