Actually a ship I find super cute that I don’t talk about a lot is Australia x Norway
It’s a relationship which is almost entirely online, outside of world meetings, they see one another like twice a year. And imagining australia secretly learning Norwegian to impress his bf the next time he sees him is so cute. Like they haven’t seen each other in 5 months, not in person anyway, and it’s all normal in the airport, speaking English. But the minute they get back to Australia’s house, he switches to speaking Norwegian (in the thickest Australian accent ever) and Nor can barely make out what he’s saying but it means so much that he’s even trying. Instantly hugs him as tight as he can.
Some Australia x Norway headcanons
Bc, big shocker, I like more than just ScotNor and SuNor.
Literally no one could’ve predicted this relationship. They’ve gotten so used to confused and surprised looks at this point.
I don’t think either Australia or Norway are actually aware of how this happened either though? There was just a little spark.
99% of their relationship is over a screen. Though they do try and visit one another more. I can see Norway sometimes just randomly taking a trip to Australia and not telling anyone. They meet up so few times a year that they’ve learnt to develop ways to make world meetings more intimate.
A part of this is through booking a hotel room together through a FaceTime. Whilst they do this every time, it still shocks England when he tries to visit Australia’s hotel room and Norway is also just casually there.
I actually think the long distance is what’s keeping norway in this relationship. In most other relationships he’ll run away as fast as he can scared of losing any sort of independence, but it’s hard to feel like you’re losing independence when you barely see them. So, it makes it a LOT easier for Norway to stay.
The difference in their climates definitely can serve as an issue. Norway will find himself way too hot in Australia and Australia will freeze in norway. They find their own ways to help their partner accommodate.
These two are such aquaphiles! They both just absolutely love being near or in water. I honestly think it’s what most of their relationship is based on. They swim and sail together and play around together in the water
I honestly struggle to see these two getting a good reception from Australia’s family (England especially), entirely because of the age difference.
An age difference I think Norway is quite insecure about, whereas australia is more confident. He does worry that he’s too old and boring for australia, who actually loves hearing about his past and the life norway lived before.
Norway has subjected australia to an ice bath before and it’s a wonder the relationship survived.
Also somehow help me think of a ship name for these two bc ngl I rlly just don’t like OzNor
