The 2020s obsession with taking a greek myth and rewriting it from the "women's perspective" whilst puposefully not engaging critically with the tales that are being adapted and then spreading misinformation abt the myths and acting like them being popular stories inhherently means you know everything abt it..

Thats exactly what milennials did with fairytales in the 2010s. Word for word just switch out the names and cultures

I love the idea of an au where the UK & Ireland were an infamous magic family who were targetted and had all of their magic erased and all memories of magic wiped.

Except for young Niamh (Northern Ireland), who was at most a toddler and was unaffected, assuming she was either hidden away or whoever targetted her siblings assumed Niamh wouldnt grow up even knowing of magic since her family do not have it. And, to their credit, they're correct, until she turns 18 and begins discovering traces of their magic history.

And Niamh has to try and piece everything together to uncover what happened, but also to try and give her family their magic & memories back.

when you say ships aren't allowed, do you mean as the focus or at all? like, if i write something familial and there's background knowledge that two of them are together without focusing on it, is that allowed?

As long as the ship is not the main focus of the entry it is fine ✨

It is the familial and platonic side of the Nordics that's the focal point in this event, but it is okay with background ships that are kept to a minimum 🌷
