Polish pilot Bolesław Gładych (17.05.1918 – 12.07.2011) in the cockpit of a P-47 fighter. The pilot fought in the Polish squadrons of the Royal Air Force (No.302 Squadron RAF; No.303 Squadron RAF)
and was assigned to the 61st Fighter Squadron of the 56th Fighter Group of the US Air Force (61st Fighter Squadron; 56th Fighter Group). During the war, Gladych shot down 17 enemy aircraft, including 10 in the P-47. 1944
