Pajama Party | Caleb and Sharon
Tonight was finally the night. After taking things apart, putting them back together, painting, wallpaper, shampooing the carpet and deep cleaning anything and everything, her new home finally looked presentable. Sure it wasn't perfect, but it was a far cry from the sad little hut on water she had originally bought. Tonight was the first night Caleb was allowed to come visit. Her demand, of course. Since he thought she was a little crazy for her decision, she had been determined to only let him see it when it showed more of the vision she saw in her head.
In her little living room she had the tv all set up with an array of horror films and movies so bad you couldn't help but love them. Popcorn bags waited on top of the microwave next to an assortment of chocolate candies and sour patch kids. Already nice and cozy in her pajama pants and a loose tee, she twisted her mess of hair into a loose bun, just enough to keep it out of the way.
In her excitement she was getting impatient, bouncing on her toes as she peaked out of the window over her kitchen sink, searching for any sign of her best friend. She chewed her lip anxiously before sighing and turning away to face the fridge. It was mostly empty, water, soda, some fruit and leftovers from dinner with her parents last night.
Faintly she heard the crunching of tires over dirt and the noise of an engine. Instantly a bright smile lit up her face and she practically burst through the door, nearly knocking over the pizza man.
"Oh.. Oh! Sorry! Let me get that."
Sharon grabbed the hot pizza boxes and balanced them on one hand while she signed the credit card receipt against the door frame with the other. With a quick smile and a thank you she bumped the door closed with her hip and dropped the pizza onto the coffee table. Now she was impatient and hungry. Even if it wasn't quite the time Caleb had said he would be there.
