A rainy day here so I caught up on some liberal studies material and completed my p chem problem set. Let me just say that this problem set took me around 12 hours to complete. Definitely not a class I’m going to wait the last minute to start with. Thankfully, I started the problem set two weeks ago and feel good knowing all I had to do was the last difficult problem. Time to relax with a good ol’ brewski.

Walked into p chem on the first day and said, “I’m going to make you my bitch”. Five minutes later I was sadly mistaken ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ.

Did a little diffraction activity in p chem today of the different fluorescent lighting. Pretty neat that I got a picture of it!

My academic life has been pretty hectic for the past week. Took my first biochem exam today and felt pretty confident on it for not studying to my best ability. However, my physical chemistry exam is scheduled this Friday so wish me luck guys...
Took my first p chem quiz today and pretty sure I made a 80 (B) on it! Woooo go me!
Hi! Do you have any advice for physical or inorganic chem?
Thank you for the question! xx
So I haven’t taken these classes yet at my uni (about to start my first semester of p chem though!). Therefore, I can’t give you specific advice on the material you’ll learn in the classes… but like I always tell students who want to do good in any chemistry class:
Read the assigned chapters before each lecture so you can get a scope of what the professor will talk about. Also, you are more likely to have questions to ask in class and be able to interact.
You can take quick notes on these chapters if you like or highlight any concepts you just don’t get. (Good questions to ask the professor!) & They’ll notice how dedicated you are for their class.
Keep yourself updated with due dates.
Complete all practice problems assigned by the professor and go to their office hours (or problem sessions) when you have troubles.
START THE HOMEWORK EARLY! Seriously, these are difficult classes for most chemistry major students.
On the first day of class, get to know other students and form a study group. For me… this is going to be very crucial for the laboratory part of the class since p chem has extremely hard lab reports.
Check out my master post on good resources. Inorganic and p chem are included on the list!
I apologize for not having specific advice. Hopefully, in the next year, I’ll be able to help more students with advanced chemistry classes. Only have a year left of my undergraduate studies. wooo!
Yo fuck p chem already. My lab instructor has me freaking out about these reports 😭
