Quinn hadn't spent her break relaxing like most of her peers had. Rather, she'd taken it as an opportunity to take up extra shifts at work, and with Christmas done and dusted, her family was in dire need of extra cash. She didn't mind it though, so long as it meant that they could continue to live comfortable and her brother could go out and have fun, be a kid like she should have been. It wasn't as if she had any better to do, anyway. Still, she couldn't deny how exhausted she was, and she felt an incredible urge to ditch early and go home. The thought dawned on her, but the store was too busy for her to leave now which caused her inevitable bad mood. Devon's appearance only added to it, and as soon as he came into sight she turned around, pretending to clean a couple of dirty mugs that someone had left at the counter. It wasn’t that she didn’t like him – it was quite the opposite, actually. Anyone who radiated such positivity wasn’t someone who made it on her short list of tolerated people, yet somehow, he was different. Honest, almost. Truthful people were hard to come by in Harwich. Still, her cynicism got in the way of actually believing everything he'd said, and when he strode up to the counter to take a seat, she spoke blankly as if she were talking to a stranger. "Can I get you something?"
