"Hey, big sib!" Of course, Jackie knew that Devon wasn't actually her sibling. But their parents had been friends back on Luna Station, and she could still remember being a kid and watching Devon doing their assignments or tinkering with things for fun and thinking she was The Coolest. To be honest, she still thought that Devon was The Coolest, which was probably why she talked to them as if they were siblings.

Bounding up to the engineer, a big smile on her face and tablet in hand, Jackie clutched the device to her chest before continuing. "I've been working on a mod design and I could use your input. Got a minute?"

Given that they had met each other there last time, Zhyan hoped Devon would somehow find herself at the cafe once again, though this time around, he hoped for a different conversation. He hadn’t seen her since they had saved Laurel’s life, since the Spirit had left him. He had been told she had been at the hospital, but he couldn’t remember if they had talked or not. Most of the time there had been a blur of sleep and worry, ending in relief and loss. He was trying to pick up the pieces of his life again, out of a job, though still with a home to come back to. Adrian hadn’t rented out the room to anyone else, that counted for something. 

He watched as Devon came in, ordered something to drink, and stood as soon as she turned back to the area, walking up to her. “Hey,” he said, trying for a smile, yet realising he still felt guilty for what she had been through on account of him.

While Evie wasn’t usually one to spend her money and keep a slave for a night, but some were just oh so pretty that she couldn’t help but make exceptions every now and then. So that night as she walked through the streets enjoying the Halloween decorations, she spotted one. She was ‘dressed’ in a mini dress that barely hit her thighs, one that was cute, soft, almost making her look innocent with the soft color and little floral print—a complete juxtaposition from the glint in her eyes as she moved to where he was sitting on a bench outside of what was probably his job. “Had a long day, handsome?”

Was it weird to be nervous to meet an online friend for the first time? Dani wasn’t sure but she absolutely was. For one, the woman seemed so much cooler and younger than herself that she worried she’d be nothing but a disappointment. However, that was mostly her anxiety trying to talk her out of a good situation, so instead of letting that drive her to cancel the meet-up, Dani sipped on her cup of coffee and awaited Devon. Suddenly she regretted showing up so early because now it was just her and her dog Chester waiting for a little too long outside. Though, the moment Dani set eyes on the woman, she felt even more relief. Giving her a wave, Dani forced a faint smile, “Hey, how’s it going? –– Sorry, the caffeine addict in me couldn’t help it, but I’m honestly ready for round two.”

Given her recent financial woes, buying new books simply wasn’t something Florence could afford at the moment. She liked reading as much as the next girl, but not to the point of going bankrupt to read the latest hot thriller. So, to the library she went. The whole experience was actually quite enjoyable. It was like book shopping except she didn’t have to spend any money in the end, which really was the best of both words. Or at least it was until a group of pre-teens seemingly recognized her and started giggling behind their smartphones. It was always the younger ones she had to look out for, the ones who used to watch the teen soap she was on. They were visibly amused to see her there, itching to ask her what she’d been up to since her disgraceful exit from Hollywood. The blonde walked further down a random alley, stealing glances backwards every few seconds and eventually colliding into someone else who was just enjoying the library. “Shit, I’m sorry. I’m hiding from teenagers.”
