Edgar had not slept. Again. Edgar was actually pretty sure he just wasn’t meant to sleep ever again, after the few weeks he’d had since coming back from his honeymoon. He hadn’t really believed everyone when they’d told him that the honeymoon period wouldn’t last all that long, but he was quite horrified to find that everyone was, in fact, right. But not for the reasons he or they had thought.
It had started with cleaning up the safe house, and had only gotten worse from there. Edgar could feel himself slipping, and it terrified him. So he’d thrown himself into work, tried to throw himself into taking care of his siblings, but he was sliding backwards, and fast.
He shouldn’t go for a run and he knew it, but nevertheless he found himself limping down the stairs, tugging open the door to his house, and glancing up and down the road before he stepped outside.
But the sight that met his eyes stopped him dead in his tracks.
“Jon.” He dropped down to his knees beside his brother, eyes wide and filled with horror and fear. Panic gripped at his chest. “Jon. Jonny. Jon, wake up--” He wasn’t breathing properly. He sucked in a breath and pulled out his wand, pointing it at Jon. “Rennervate.” His chest heaved; what if he was dead? No, he’s not dead. He’s not. He’s not again. “Rennervate. Come on, damn you, wake up.”
