My thoughts on Cliff Marlow moving through the world:

Imagine Marlow just kinda walking around being a bit thick about absolutely everything but having moments of absolute clarity.

Marly at the club, 4 drinks in, and giving their new rookie genuine and good relationship advice about boundaries...then minutes later shoving a toungue down someone's throat on the dance floor.

Marly getting caught in the discourse about pronouns and gender identity in the locker room (the apache attack helicopter of it all around 2014) and getting very serious and going on a tangent about mutual human respect and how people should be free to be their authentic selves...and then turning around and getting a rookie with a snap of a wet towel...and laughing like an absolute asshole about it.

Marly clocking Ryan Price because Ryan was trying very hard not to look at the pretty pretty boys in a Miami club (and its not like Marly knows what that looks like or anything). And sure they dragged Ryan here against his will but Marly is gona make sure the man at least gets a chance to enjoy the pretty eye candy (cause he is a good teammate and not because he also wants an excuse to look). Marly going on an impromptu tangent about how fluid sexuality is and how cute all the twinks in Miami are and how Marley appreciates pretty people and how gender doesn’t matter when it comes to matters of the heart...maybe its not eloquent but the tangent has much more nuance than a man with his personality should have. He then points out each twink he finds hot until Ryan agrees with him when he follows Marly's eyes to a pretty brunette with eyeliner on.

Marly going on a tangent about healthy relationship dynamics when Ilya tells him about Ottawa. Marly immediately expressing his concern that his boyfriend isn't sacrificing his career and instead Ilya is the one to self sabotage. Ilya just stares at Marly because the guy just casually dropped the whole 'Shane Hollander' of it all without saying the name. Marly finishes off his rant with a casual 'given that you have the bigger ass, he should be the one chasing tail'

Marly meeting Luca Haas at the Wedding™️ and immediately clocking that Luca thinks he is hot (just because he isn't a 'practicing bisexual'doesnt mean he is out of practice). Marly cornering Luca and asking him if the attraction is due to Ilya being unobtainable in the same breath as a warning about older guys looking to take advantage of naivety. Luca's face can't decide if it wants to be pale in fear or red with shame. Marly shifts his attention to Ilya and casually says "he's a messy kisser anyways - its kinda gross" and fucks off like nothing happened.

✦ — angsty plot ideas

INFIDELITY — muse a is in a long-term relationship that everyone around them assumes is solid, until muse b enters the picture. what starts as harmless late-night chats or friendly drinks becomes so much more with stolen kisses, guilt, along with the constant fear of getting caught. FORBIDDEN AFFAIR — muse a and muse b shouldn't be together. maybe they're tied to people in the same social circle, or one is in a position of authority. they've sworn this would never happen, but here they are, sneaking glances at the bar, brushing hands in elevators, making excuses to slip away when no one's paying attention. COLLEGE TENSION — two students thrown together by circumstance - roommates. lab partners. the unlucky duo stuck running a student event. muse a resents muse b's arrogance, muse b can't stand muse a's laid-back attitude, but the sparks of animosity blur into something else after too many sleepless nights spent side by side. WALLS TOO THIN — muse a and muse b live on the same floor of an apartment complex. at first it's mutual annoyance, hearing each other's arguments and hookups... but slowly, the constant presence breeds familiarity. when one of them goes through something messy, the other is the only one close enough to notice. REBOUND GONE WRONG — muse a is fresh out of a devastating breakup, and muse b becomes the rebound. someone to numb the sting and make them feel wanted again. along the way, the line between distraction and desire becomes indistinguishable. neither of them is sure if what they're building is real or if it's all just a desperate attempt to heal. LOVE VS AMBITION — muse a and muse b fall for each other in the middle of chasing big dreams: grad school, career moves, an opportunity abroad. the connection is undeniable, but so is the reality that love might mean sacrifice. do they hold on and risk resenting each other for what they gave up, or let go before it destroys them both?

Thinking about a Buck, pre-season 1 or maybe right at the start of season 1. Who finds a new gym via recommendation of a guy at a bar.

And its super friendly and there are so many buff guys who want to help him with his routine.

And then he's in the showers and theyre still communal, which seems odd for a place this fancy, but whatever.

And there is this absolute Adonis showering in the corner. And Buck looks, he's never really been able to stop himself from admiring a well built man, even though its gotten him in plenty of trouble.

And he thinks he's being subtle about it, but that's never been his strong suit so suddenly this guy is making eye contact.

And Buck thinks he's about to get in a fight or get yelled at but the guy just twists a little and shows Buck how he's stroking himself, soapy water, slow and sensual.

And Buck has no idea whats happening but he's rock hard and the guy isnt stopping so he starts jerking off too. Its the most eye contact hes ever had during a sexual act. And then the guy tilts his head, invites him over.

And proceeds to give Buck the best hand job of his life. Maybe its the exhibitionist streak, maybe its the unexpectedness of this all, but Buck comes embarrassingly fast.

And he tries to apologize but the guy just laughs and asks him to return the favor, he's close too. And Buck does and he's not the best but he gets the guy there.

He asks for the guys name but he shrugs him off. Asks if comes here often or if he prefers other spots.

Buck asks, what other gyms?

Sure, the guy says. Or bars or the parks. Wherever.

Bucks confused. For working out?

For cruising, the guy explains.

What's cruising? Buck asks.

The guy looks at him like he's crazy.

What we just did.

Oh there's a name for that? Is it like a California thing? I just moved here, I'm from Pennsylvania. It was fun though!

No. Its not a California exclusive thing, its a gay thing. Did you just come out?

And Buck blinks and goes so earnestly. Im straight. Im an ally though! Like he didnt just come with this guys hand on his dick two minutes ago.

And the guy sighs and mutters I'm definitely going to regret this, and then introduces himself as Tommy, and says he'll show buck around.

And Buck is super proud of himself for making his first friend in LA!

I want to write a thing but also I don’t have the attention span right now so…

something something Evan coming home from a long shift for the season 10 opener. he’s exhausted and hasn’t seen Theo in a few days, and he feels bad because he took the whole summer off so they could properly get acquainted, and he promised not to stay gone this long, and even though they’ve had calls, it’s not the same.

he gets home late and his heart is aching because Theo is already in bed asleep—in his bed of course, because the kid is still dealing with the death of his parents and who is Evan to tell his mini twin no?

he stops in the doorway to stare for a bit, promising he’ll make the most of the next few days. when he gathers up the energy to move, he walk into the dimly lit kitchen. theres an open beer waiting for him beside another, half-finished bottle. he takes a long sip from it and sighs, grateful to be home.

arms wrap around his waist and he gets a kiss to the back of his neck before one hand reaches up for the half-gone beer.

“sorry, I didn’t mean to be gone so long,” he murmurs. his body is almost dead weight against Tommy’s.

“it’s fine, Evan. we had a good time. and how better to convince the kid to like me than to have forced proximity,” he teases.

Evan blushes. “you could’ve called Maddie. or Carla. they would’ve tagged you out.”

he turns as he talks, Tommy watching him with those eyes.

“listen, I know I brought this all on you suddenly, and he’s not-..”

“he’s yours,” Tommy reminds him. “and I promised myself if I ever got you back, I wouldn’t let go. and while I hadn’t exactly imagined you having a tiny version of yourself hanging around, I’m not mad about it.”

Evan blushes. if there’s anyone who could possibly love Theo more than him, it’s probably Tommy. still, this is all so new and unplanned for.

“was it a good day then,” he asks.

Tommy nods, setting his beer on the counter behind Evan as his arms block the younger firefighter in. “he’s convinced you’ll let me take him up for a flight.”

“never,” Evan counters. “or at least not until he’s thirty. five.”

Tommy snorts. Theo clearly doesn’t have the same qualms about flying as his birth-slash-foster father.

“we’ll talk about it,” he whispers, leaning in for a kiss.

a carcar outsider pov fic where charles and lando are beefing and quite literally tripping over themselves as they compete for carlos’ attention

lando making sure he stands between carlos and charles in the drivers parade and charles riling carlos up to make sure he’s the only carlos is looking at

silly goofy scenarios that result in carlos having to get lunch with charles and oh my god is that lando also walking in? let’s all sit together :) but lando and charles are two seconds away from making a scene

they get so caught up in fighting each other for carlos’ hand that they miss him slipping away during the parades only to pinch the stomach of another man wearing papaya

for some reason carlos is never available for dinner and always declines late night drinks and more intimate settings with a laugh

charles and lando not even realizing the race they’re running doesn’t even have a finish line because carlos is curled up in oscar’s bed snoring into his neck

bonus points if oscar is deeply amused and aware of what’s going on bc both lando (his teammate) and charles (who is aware oscar is lando’s teammate) have confided in him and complained about the other

oscar who keeps encouraging them to keep trying and even giving suggestion on how to ‘woo’ carlos and then laughing when they fail

Fever Whump Details

Being just as — if not more — uncomfortable closing their eyes and resting as they are keeping them open; because every time they close their eyes, they get caught in a never-ending loop of thought that is just incomprehensible enough to manifest itself as a brightly-colored whirlwind behind their eyes that is more of a bad trip than a fever dream.

Being unable to breathe through their nose forces them to breathe through their mouth, which leads to their becoming severely dehydrated, which leads to feeling nauseous and like their heart is moving their entire body with every beat.

Not being able to talk, but having just enough energy to periodically swear under their breath and say “oh god”

Not being sure if they have a stiff neck from the fever itself, or from pretzeling themselves into uncomfortable positions because of the discomfort

Regretting their life decisions

Feeling like their eyes are getting cooked in their skull because they’re so hot

Knowing they need to spread out their limbs and cool off; but being unable to get their body to stop shoving their hands down their pants or into their armpits to seek warmth

Still being painfully thirsty no matter how much water they drink

Getting nauseous from drinking water

Chugging apple cider vinegar water to get rid of the flu and then having the most awful acid reflux an hour or two later

Having a scabbed over wound that didn’t faze them at all when they received it; but now that they’re sick, makes them gag to look at it

Thinking about Reader who has their guild mark in a similar place as Gray’s. Not exactly their chest but rather along their hipbone. Whenever they’re asked about it, they just play dumb. Saying “oh, I was a kid. Kinda just picked a spot. Didn’t really think about it.” But now, whenever they have to show the f/c guild mark, they have to push their pants and underwear out of the way.

They quickly grow tired of it. Instead, opting to wear garments that show off their hips. Whether it be cutouts or see through mesh material. Sometimes, low rise pants and a cropped shirt to further show off the midriff when they’re feeling lazy. And not wanting to be a fashion icon for once with it.

Eventually having their hips out is just second nature. Not even paying any mind to it until those in the guild get enticed to touch/grab them there. Suddenly reminded when an arm brushes past.

Or when a pair arms loops around their hips in a hug. Getting gently pulled out of the way when they’re about to run into an obstacle. For when they’re simply going the wrong way. Wishing to be closer to Reader as well as they redirect them.

Getting hoisted in the air to sit on someone’s shoulders. Thankful as they’re able to see above the crowd of people.

Really any excuse to touch their hips. And without fail, it causes a tingly sensation to erupt on Reader’s skin. Visible goosebumps. But it doesn’t stop them swaying their hips as they walk in a strut. Popping a hip out when they stand.

Clone wars crackfic idea that came to me in a Christmas dream:.

The Corrie Guard gets exposed to the idea of celebrating birthdays (lifedays) for office morale, finds this extremely funny.

Someone in the guard comes up with a number/date that would be suitably diverse amongst the guard (decanting day? the date of their first disciplinary record? Idk). It's probably a number they don't even know.

Anyway, whoever is putting the office birthday system together contrived to dig these numbers out of the files to create automated birthday alerts... but in trying to find a data folder that is specifically the corrie guard (and not every clone trooper ever) they accidentally grab a folder that's like... office equipment assigned to Chancellor Palpatine. Of which the corrie guard is classified ofc.

So the notifications are like:

"Happy birthday to the stapler!"

or "Fun birthday fact, trooper: you are 10 days older than the office copy machine!"

Which the corrie guard also finds massively funny bc they're prone to dark humor like that

and it becomes a HUGE in-group meme

Just imagine the troopers going around like "Happy birthday to commander fox, and his newly discovered batchmate, Standard Issue Caff Maker"

And at first I wasn't sure what the trajectory of this fic would be, but I think one day something incredibly incriminating that Palpatine had requisitioned and then buried in the files pops out, like "Happy Birthday to the Sith Holocron~" or smthg

and shit goes down from there
