Ken can’t believe what he’s seeing. He’s witnessed snippets of these types of skills from the handful of instances he’s had the privilege to watch special class heroes fight. Heroes like this are plain gifted. Whether it’s weapons mastery or the superhuman reflexes that come with growing magical capacity, they radiate an aura like no other.
Ken’s mouth drops in shock as his eyes struggle to follow the sheer speed of the fight. If he blinks, he misses crucial moments of the fight. The newest edition of the phantom rebellion is transformed into his battle clothes and with the magnetic shield clipped to his wrist, but he’s too much in awe to join the fight.
He shakes himself back into reality when a spray of monster guts hits his face and stains the white of his uniform. The monster is in a defeated mess, he’s sprayed in the aftermath, and the mystery hero walks like the star of an action movie. Ken rubs his sleeves against his face to scrape off what monster remains he can, then runs towards his new idol. He waves his hand high in the air, but it’s not like anyone could his overzealous self rushing towards the battle field.
“Excuse me?” he asks. “Excuse me?”
The next few minutes are a whirlwind of questions.
“Are you in the League? I don’t think I ever saw you while I was in it, b-b-but you’re so good you might’ve been busy with super secret special class missions! Do you have any tips? I really liked the way you finished him off -- all Kapow! Bam! Bam! Hiyah! -- and stuff! Where did you learn to do that? Wow, you’re so cool! Can I have your autograph?”
