Genesis || Adam & Lilith
Adam hated forests. He hated them with a burning passion, especially gross and buggy forests with low-hanging branches that forced him to crawl. Well, thinking reasonably, he probably would have needed the cover no matter what - but that didn’t mean he couldn’t throw scathing glances at the foliage whenever it touched him.
He hated forests, and because Kai apparently was in an extra cruel mood that day, she assigned him to ambush and take down a particular rogue lycan. A bitter, PTSD riddled ex marine named Judas Hill - still young, a little bloodthirsty, a lot angry, and quickly racking up a body count. One that had been spotted running around the Forest of Edden when the full moon hit.
So there Adam was, festering in the dirt waiting for this motherfucking dog to show his face. He could hear the sound of the wolf’s gait faintly, he’d been tracking it for a good portion of the night to make sure, but Kai wanted a clean kill, which meant waiting for just the right moment.
He double checked the scope on his sniper rifle, loaded with silver bullets, one more time, and then reached down at his hip to load the concealed handgun he kept there. His movements were automatic and practiced, which almost made him miss one tiny, extra click. That noise wasn’t from his gun.
little attentions || lilith and joseph
Joseph was having troubles with his prosthetic again. Namely, it’s age and use was catching up with it. No matter how well he tended to it, time broke down all things. Including prosthetic limbs. Unfortunately, this sort of break down was giving him an uncomfortable limp, a sore leg, and an achey back
He stopped in the empty third-ward rec room, taking a seat on the couch and rolling up his pant leg to try and adjust the prosthetic to something more comfortable. It was late, and most people in the safehouse were asleep - or the vampires were hunting - and so he wasn’t even considering that someone might happen by as he focused.
toeing the line || lilith and samael
Samael hadn’t taken much prompting, after reading the messages from Lilith on that ‘gossip wall’, to go and find his mate. She was easy enough to track down, and when he found her she was in the library. He moved behind her, hand sliding down his arm as the other brushed her hair from her neck. Once his path was clear, his head ducked to press kisses against her, soft up until he decided to bite at the skin there and worry at her pulse.
“You’ve been busy socializing,” he murmured, kissing up her neck to nip next at her ear. “I was almost worried you’d forgotten about me.”
