Beach Day || Frederick & Mari
“Hey”, Frederick grabbed Mari’s arm, and quickly released, hoping he didn’t scare her. “I didn’t mean to scare you”, he looked down and apologized. It definitely wasn’t in his repertoire to scare a woman - especially one that he really liked. “I just...wanted to thank you for the ice cream the other day, and...” he trailed off, not knowing what to say. He always knew what to say. Why was now any different?
Because it was her. Marisol. She was beautiful, smart, honest - she caught him off guard. “I was hoping I could take you up on that offer...you know,” he scratched the back of his head, trying not to look uncertain. “...for a date. If you want, that is”, he assured her. He certainly wouldn’t want her doing anything she didn’t want to. He had met very few people since he had moved there, and Mari was among the nicest, most beautiful girls he had met. Even the girls that had bade him attention, paled in comparison to her. But he couldn’t let her know that. Not yet, anyway. He didn’t want to scare her off, and Frederick didn’t even know what he was feeling yet. What was he feeling? He had never felt this way before. All he knew was that he hoped she would say yes. Please say yes. “So...?”, he raised an eyebrow at her, waiting on her response.
