Haunted || Jordan & Nanna

To be honest, Jordan was a little skeptical about the existence of ghosts. It didn't make sense to him. No logical sense whatsoever. But Nanna seemed excited by the idea, so he decided to tag along with her to this super old abandoned office building in town. For years they were supposed to demolish it, but no one ever got around to it. So, it sat there for decades, a chain-link fence around it with a sign warning people not to trespass under penalty of prosecution. Why the hell would anyone prosecute anyway? This land was unwanted, and it didn't take much to realize why.

The windows were blown out, graffitied, and it looked in absolute disrepair. He looked at it skeptically, hands stuffed in his pockets and furrowing his brows. "You sure about this place, Nanna?"

Barely Alive || Jordan & Nanna

Jordan was in and out of it after that, waking up for a few moments every now and then to see glimpses of the other bankers hovering over him, the EMTs rushing him to the hospital in the ambulance, doctors prodding and probing the open gash in his wound. But he was out of it after that, sure that through all that panic and excitement he would end up dead. It didn't matter how much they tried, he knew how things were going to end. It was only a matter of time that he lost his life to a vampire.

When he finally was able to keep his eyes open for more than a split second, he found himself staring up at a bright white ceiling, in the absolute worst pain, and connected to all of these cables. So, he did make it. He was alive. But for how much pain he was in, he almost wished he was dead. He groaned in discomfort, shifting slightly.

Protection || Jordan & Nanna

Jordan was going to hunt tonight. He couldn't forgive himself for missing the supermoon last night. But hey, he got a decent amount of cash so he couldn't complain too much. Regardless, he wasn't anywhere near his goal of killing that vampire, and that frustrated him. Every night he doesn't hunt, the more people will die, and he couldn't handle that. So, tonight had to happen. He'd been tracking a younger vampire for a while now, one that hadn't gotten used to feeding without snapping necks. They were just out of the starting gate, but they had to go. He wasn't going to let that vampire take out anymore innocent people.

So, he needed to go to Nanna for a protection spell. She was still upset with him for sure, but he needed her. Otherwise, he was as good as dead. As much as he hated to admit, he wasn't so experienced that he could handle himself without a spell. Maybe some day, but not today. He was just going to be in and out, coming in to get the spell and leave. But, Nanna's mom insisted he stay for dinner. So, he did. Bland food that he forced down to be polite, pretending that everything was okay between Nanna and him.

It was difficult to make conversation, to be honest. But he did his best, excusing himself when the meal was over and following Nanna to her bedroom. "Thanks for doing this for me," he muttered, shuffling his feet nervously.
