The past couple of days had been hard for Alex to get past, he was either sleeping or editing. Anything to keep his mind occupied from the fact that Tegan was gone, it kept nudging at him and made him feel terrible. But he also realized that throughout everything that had been going on these couple of months, the time he spent with Ren was slowly declining. Whether he was dealing with someone else's drama or his own, he was always out and busy. He just assumed that Ren could always go talk to Ruben if she needed a male but after her reaction to Alex giving Tegan a promise ring, he could not turn down not spending a day with her.
He placed a load of blankets and a bag of food in the trunk, closing the trunk door and walking up back into the house. He saw Ren standing in the hall and smiled slightly at her. "Ready?"
