With every step she took, her heart swelled with agitation. She can feel her insides flutter and spin, leaving her languished. She is crumbling away ever since Mari decided to do whatever it was she has set to do. The events of Earth-616 has left her visibly shaken, losing the vigor the infamous trickster of the academy once had. There were no tomfoolery or shenanigans anymore. It was as if when the year shifted, so did Ahn Mari.
There was no point of returning. She let herself in the cosmic building and quietly traversed to the path she had been taking for days now. If there was one place that can hopefully withstand her powers, it was here.
She wasn’t doing this alone. Hell, she was certain that she cannot even do this all by herself. “Hey,” she announced her presence to the other as she opened the door. Mari cannot believe how patient this man was to her so far. She has conjured up excuses multiple times just to not use her powers to their full potential. She just can’t bring herself to kill him.
Mari looked down on her worn-out leather boots as she fidgeted with her fingers. “So.. are we good to go now?” She looked at the huge glass windows that surround the entire space. The contingency to have a view to gander outside gave her an uncanny sense of comfort. “Because I heard that today’s lunch is something to die for and maybe we can make a quick detour!” She glimpsed at him expectantly.
Please, not today. I’m still scared.
