Table For Two | Rachel + Santana
The day rolled around faster than Santana had anticipated. Her Friday shift had been rushed and hectic so she’d collapsed into bed at a stupid hour that morning and when she’d woke up that Saturday morning she’d been feeling groggy. However after a hot bath and an early morning spliff to take the edge of she’d been ready for the night. She made reservations at a restaurant in Crystal Cove, a short way outside of town. When she’d been looking through places to go she hadn’t been able to resist it. It was set right on the beach and looked like it had a very chilled out vibe with an extensive menu to choose from as she didn’t actually know what Rachel liked to eat. She figured that she’d be able to take Rachel for a walk afterwards and from there it would either be decided if they actually ‘liked’ each other or it was all bust. That was how dates worked right? She’d never actually been on one before and as much as she hated to admit it, she was feeling a bit nervous. She didn’t know exactly what she felt for the smaller brunette but she liked her smile and she liked talking to her and she’d been so good at helping her to get her grade. She cast a glance over at the clock and smiled when she saw it had just gone 6:30 and she hadn’t even dressed yet. She’d spent at least ten minutes putting her hair up into a messy ponytail for no particular reason. Without too much thought she pulled on a pair of black denim shorts as well as a blue vest. She tucked her heels under her arms, knowing it wasn’t safe to drive in them and after making sure she had everything she needed in her bag she jogged downstairs and out of the house. Her father was home for once but she only knew this because she could hear the sound of him laughing in the back garden with his new bit of arm candy. They’d probably raided his liquor cabinet and she was glad she would be of the house that night. As usual it didn’t take her any time at all to drive over to Rachel’s home, the roof of her car rolled down to soak in the evening breeze. She felt good about tonight and she hoped she could at least get Rachel to enjoy it too. “Okay, you can do this. It’s just dinner and she’s just another pretty girl, no big deal,” She told herself as she stopped the car outside of Rachel’s house. She was about five minutes early but there was nothing wrong with that right? When she reached Rachel’s door she knocked then stepped back and put her hands in her pockets, waiting.
