it was that one night at the the box night club where byulyi was invited by a friend of hers, it was his birthday so byulyi couldn't decline the invite-- thus why she ended up sitting on one of the soft cushion around the place, a drink on her hand. she’d been eyeing someone ever since she got here, not that she was interested in her (well maybe a little who is she even kidding) but then something else had definitely caught her attention, besides her pretty face. a guy who seemed to be annoying the hell out of her. he was obviously hitting on her and byulyi could see the annoyance in her face. she sighed heavily, taking a sip from her drink, fingers soon tapped against the glass. byulyi contemplated whether she should intrude and maybe save the girl from her misery because why the fuck can’t guys take the hint anyway? the woman was obviously not interested and yet he kept on pursuing her.

it was an annoying sight to see and byulyi just couldn't afford to watch it further. she decided to intervene. she finally stood up from her seat, walking over to another couch where the woman was sitting along with a man beside her. she sets her drink on the table, sitting beside her with her legs crossed, hand on the woman’s lap. “hey babe.” she leaned closer, whispering something on her ear. “just play along.”

it was that one night at the lush night club. byulyi rarely ever visit the place, but this particular night she was invited by a client of hers which she couldn’t afford to decline. she wasn’t really the one to drink in such places as byulyi prefer to drink somewhere private, like inside a house or some sort. she never like the idea of drinking in public, so she’s rarely ever seen in such a public place drinking.

there were people everywhere, bodies to bodies, sweats trickling here and there. byulyi stayed on the bar, not even bothering to slip into the sea of people. she finds it rather disgusting, skin to skin contact from various people. she scrunched her nose, emptying her glass of cocktail, placing it on the table. she let her gaze linger somewhere else besides the crowd, somehow, a woman managed to catch her attention. she looked uncomfortable talking to a guy, and byulyi observed them from afar. it’s not long enough until she realized that he was probably hitting on her, and he looked very persistent with it. he couldn’t even keep his hands off and annoyed byulyi to death.

why can’t guys really get the hint anyways?

she left her seat, walking over to the scene in attempts to save the poor woman from her misery. if byulyi had the guts to punch him, she really would. but that was so scandalous of her to do so. she’d had other ideas in mind. she wanted to settle this in a non-violent way.

“hey baby.” she stood beside her as close as possible, her back facing the guy, hand slipping into the side of her waist. byulyi leaned in, whispering against her ear. “just play along.”

it was yet another day of the week where byulyi has been awaken by a phone call. groggily, she reached out for her phone as she rubbed her eyes, chest facing the comforts of her bed whilst her frame was covered by the warm comforters. “hello?” she asked, voice slightly hoarse, her eyes immediately bulged out upon hearing the other line, it was her grandmother-- and in such a morning, she was lecturing her, something about a rumor. she instantly got up, trembling fingers scanning through her phone and she checked the latest rumors over the internet-- there she saw the specific one about herself. she felt cold sweats on her forehead.

‘moon byulyi what on earth are you thinking? how did this broke out?’ byulyi was left dumbfounded, because truthfully, she doesn’t know it either. if she recalls it clearly, she never told anyone about her real identity. she had zero idea who exposed her. ‘you better fix this mess, byulyi. or else.’ and with that, the call abruptly ended. she slumped back to the headrest of her bed, rubbing her temples with her sweaty palms, and she heaved a sigh.

“god, this is a mess.” she mumbled. “and the funny thing i don’t know how to fix it.” she heaved a sigh once more, quickly dialing a number on her phone-- their personal butler.

“can you try tracing the source? i want to know who exposed me.” byulyi’s voice was shaky.

it was a spur of the moment idea that byulyi decides to stop by the republique cafe, for some odd reason (who is she even kidding, she just want to see wheein). she spotted wheein inside from the glass window, serving some of the tables, and she talked woman-- another waitress perhaps, and asked for a table, and so she was led inside, get herself seated on a vacant two seated table but then before the woman could even take her order, she whispered something to her, something along the lines of ‘can i request the other waitress to serve me.’ and she slipped some cash on the woman’s pocket smoothly, a soft smile on her lips. the woman doesn’t even hesitate, only nodding and she left. she was probably going to ask wheein to serve her table, so byulyi remained seated there, the menu laid in front of her and she took the time to scan the possible choices.

it was today. the day that the meteor shower was supposed to happen. byulyi was slightly panicking. she had prepared for this day, planned it all out. but despite being all planned out, she still haven’t asked wheein about the star gazing night she had in mind. byulyi was nervous, she doesn’t know how to ask the girl and she kept on delaying the day she invite her, until she ran out of time and this exactly what happened. she haven’t asked the girl at all, and yet here she was already prepared, fully clothed in a smart casual as always, button up tucked in, a pair of ripped jeans that she only wears for casual hangouts. her hair was tied neatly in a pony tail, and this time, she didn’t wore a snapback.

why was she even dressed so nicely? it’s not like this is a date. she sighed and after a few minutes of contemplation, she finally gave up. “okay, i’ll do this quickly. i’ll just ask her if she’s fine and if not then--” she paused. she doesn’t really have a back up plan at all. how frustrating, she shrugged nonchalantly and finally after so many hours of going back and forth, she was finally going to do it. she left her apartment shortly after.

surprisingly enough, the lights were on. she was there-- byulyi noted. without much contemplation, she knocked on the door as soon as she arrived. a heavy sigh passing through her lips. “wheein.” her voice, sounding casual though there was a hint of nervousness. “it’s byul.”

it was that one evening when byulyi decided to wait for yongsun. the girl-- seemingly hard to forget. that girl from her high school. she was something special, they had shared something back in cheongnam, something private. something confidential-- they shared each other’s secrets, that one night, and after that incident, history could tell it all. they were good friends, for byulyi at least, but drifted apart after byulyi’s disappearance.

she never heard of her ever since, but her face-- even after years passed by, remained the same. and byulyi didn’t took long enough to recognize her face from afar, that one morning she was preparing for work. she had seen the girl, too familiar that she coudln’t have been mistaken. she still looked the same, still the same pretty girl in her high school, someone she kept an eye on not only because she was one of the prettiest in class, but she was also kind-hearted, at least to byulyi, that is.

byulyi. the name rangs in her head, her own name. byulyi wonders if she still knows her, after her disappearance, the girl probably forgot all about her. after all, byulyi wasn’t anything relevant to cheongnam. she was just that nerd who was always the subject of bullying.

she was probably so easily forgotten. somehow, the thought pained her, but she wouldn’t really know unless she try right? so, she decided to try her luck today, maybe find it out herself whether the woman still remembers her.

hopefully, she does. there was still a small spark of hope inside her.

it’s not like she was stalking her, but byulyi knows the woman arrives the same time as her. byulyi tried to get home earlier than expected, so she’d catch her outside once she arrives. byulyi remained outside her door, arms folded. she leaned against the wall, dusting off her oversized sweater. she had to at least look quite decent, after all.

she waited, and waited, and waited. not that she really mind waiting, though.

it doesn’t take long enough for her to see the familiar figure from afar, and once she was nearing, byulyi tried to catch up with her-- just before she can even get inside her apartment. once catching up with her, she places her hand on her shoulder.

in all honesty, byulyi wasn’t really much of a fan of these rom-com movies, if it was just some random person inviting her for a movie night to watch these kinds of movies, she would most likely decline, but jinri wasn’t just someone, and byulyi didn’t mind tolerating this cringe worthy movies if it was jinri she’s with.

the jab on the other’s cheek was pretty much random, or maybe she was just bored. she was evidently not paying attention to the movie anyway, and clearly enough, she was distracting herself with anything. she couldn’t help that jinri look so adorable with this angle, and her cheeks were quite fluffy tonight. too many junk foods, she guess?

“oh my god, i swear to god choi jinri-- don’t you dare.” she shot the woman a glare. she tried to wraggle some more, but too her dismay, she wasn’t that strong enough. she narrowed her eyes at her, eyebrow furrowing. “stop it. come on, you’re gross.” she rolled her eyes, lips jutting into a pout. “i swear to god if you do it i ill tickle you to death.”

byulyi was surprisingly calm as the rumor arise, not that she was expecting this already. hell, she actually thought she could slip away from the possible drama. it was too late for her to realize the consequences to the last night’s turn of events.

but does she really regret what happened? not really, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t feeling quite guilty. as a matter of fact, she does felt quite responsible for this. if she didn’t distanced herself in an earlier event, this wasn’t bound to happen, she had probably saved both themselves from the possible rumors. she couldn’t help but to blame herself.

most of the time, byulyi was mindful with her own actions, and she was very much aware that the incident from last night was something she hadn’t think about-- she had probably got carried away with her own emotions, and with momo’s drunken state, she really couldn’t afford to stop what was bound to happen. she was out of control, and that was irresponsible of her. her grandmother would surely not like this, and hell would break loose once she arrives back to seoul.

i really shouldn’t be thinking about that yet. it’s not like she can do anything while i’m here anyway. so byulyi tried to shake off the thoughts about her grandmother. however, she felt a tinge of guilt adding up once she remembered wheein, her neighbor. how the heck does eagle eyes even know that, it wasn’t like she blatantly confessed her liking for her neighbor. byulyi frowned.

was i that obvious?

she remained seated on the edge of her bed, phone resting on her hand. she was contemplating whether to send momo a message, she wondered how the woman was coping up-- pretty badly for sure. it wasn’t probably the wisest decision to bother the woman right now, considering she would be dealing with a lot of problems, so byulyi quickly shake off the idea.

what about wheein? should she be worried? she sighed frustratingly. byulyi would make it up to her when she goes back to seoul. hopefully she doesn’t loathe the blonde woman for dragging her up in this mess.

calm down byulyi, it’s just a rumor. and so she did. maybe going out for some fresh air would give her some time to think-- yeah. that was a better much idea. and so it didn’t took long enough for byulyi to dash away from her cell.

she’d deal with momo maybe later, or tomorrow but for now, maybe letting the rumor subside would be best.
