beyond borders,
@ccxkana
there are ups and downs in working in a bookstore. first is dealing with noisy customers. second, is the book cataloging that she had to do in the end of each week. third, the low pay that barely gets her past each month. but one thing keeps her on her feet, motivating her to stay and not just give up.
books. magical stories that she can escape to whenever she’s bored, stories she can revisit every time for a new experience. it’s weird for such a magical creature to indulge in another’s fantasy, but why not? page through page she goes through in a flash, leaving no room to contemplate deeply about anything until after it’s done. still going sentence by sentence of her freshly picked book, the card lets herself get lost in the world of mysteries and horrors. it is not until a familiar voice knocks her out of her zone and into the real world.
perhaps, the only human she can tolerate. listening to her speak doesn’t bug her as much as the kind typically does. a mystery really, one she doesn’t mind keeping unsolved. still, it’s not in her nature to get excited, so she settles for a curve that’s barely visible, but the other can interpret as a warm smile. “it’s you again.”
