disoriented / atsuko&jiyong
The shrill ringing of the bell awoke Atsuko from her daydream, the overwhelming feeling of all her classmates simultaneously getting up and exiting the room excitedly surrounding her. Rushing to to stand up, she banged her knee on the desk and cursed under her breath in her native language. Without caring of her materials, she opened her book bag and stuffed her papers, books, and pencils into it frantically. The impatient stare of her teacher from behind their desk caused her to move quicker, accidentally cutting her hand on a piece of paper. Apologizing quietly as she walked quickly out of the room, Atsuko held her right hand tightly to stop the blood flow, her next class the only thing on her mind. She was still horrible with directions, and got lost constantly at this school. Most of her teachers were understanding, but the one for her next block threatened her with detention the next time she was late. With the cut in her hand making it unable for her to get the school map out of her book bag, Atsuko made her way through the bustling crowd of students completely disoriented. They shoved and pushed each other carelessly, threats and curse words raising above the hustle of the crowd. People were pushing in on her, and it was all too much for Atsuko. Pushing out towards the closest open space, she quickly grabbed the door handle to a class room and opened it, rushing inside. Closing it just as quickly, and allowing the noise outside to die down, Atsuko leaned against the closed entrance, cradling her bleeding hand and taking in quick, sharp, breaths.
