It's difficult being both an Edith and Mary fan. I adore Mary and I'm interested in her character development, yet at the same time I want Edith to be happy and have a compelling storyline.
I always thought one (or several) of those guys Edith nursed back to health during the war would come back and fall for her, especially after she received credit by the general.
Out of purely selfish reasons I hope Edith will find love and happiness at one point. We've both had too many disappointments in love, but if she can be happy in love again, it might happen for me, too.
I feel like Edith being used to replace Sybil as the "revolutionary sister" and I wish she could just be her own person.
Fandom, stop trying to make Edith x Evelyn happen. It's not going to happen.
I don't understand why wanting Edith to find love is hated by some people in the fan base. I think she can still become an independent woman, a writer and have a career AND find love too. That is what I want from the next season. I want Edith to grow even more independent and find a man who understands and admires that, one who wouldn't force her into adultery or settling.
