Without the Bitter the Sweet Isn't as Sweet
Eleanor’s eyes squinted agains the bright Georgian sun. She just finished another long shift and was excited to head home. The walk wasn’t so bad and it would give her time to look over the paperwork she had to deal with. Slinging her back pack over her shoulder, manicured fingers flipped through the pages she had to fill.
Pulling a pen out, she scribbled notes onto the pages. Lost in her own world and unaware of her surroundings as she body checks into a wall. An electric feeling shook through her body.
And walls don’t spill hot coffee.
“Fuck.” She cursed, hissing as the hot liquid seeped through her shirt. Eleanor shook out the pages but saw the brown stains marring her work. So much for that.
“You know is it so hard to ask for one good day?” She exclaims looking into the blue sky, unsure if anyone was listening. “I’m sorry about that.” Looking down at her own shirt, “I wasn’t looking and suddenly––”
There he stood.
A ghost from past endeavors but it couldn’t be. How was he here?
“Hudson? As in my Joseph Hudson?” Eleanor asks unbeknownst to have claimed him like they were still in high school. God, she hadn’t seen him in years. “When did you... How did you... What are you... Hi?”
