“Just Crash the Adult I” appears in P-Queue, Vol. 9 (2012)
Oh, Minor Threat. To quote Édouard Levé, “Fifteen years old is the middle of my life, regardless of when I die.”
As far as I can tell, poetry is what you do when you’re a hardcore singer and you don’t have a band to give you a reason to scream ‘til you’re coughing up blood (ah, high school). You don’t have to overcome the volume of the background noise anymore; you start to think about how people are actually going to understand what you’re saying; you get so quiet you can fit your screaming on a page; you stop singing, but you keep writing.
I’ll miss doing this with you, bleeding the engine, but I think I’m ready to move again.
