Parks and Gardens of South Manchester
I used to believe (although I never would have said it out loud) that maternity leave was a nice, long, paid holiday.
As an opportunity to go on lovely big walks, however, it's brilliant. I've seen more of South Manchester in the last few months than during all my time here previously. I'm also starting to learn how all the roads join up and I've only been here four and a half years. Quite by accident though, I seem to be cataloguing Manchester's parks with the pinhole camera. I've started scouring google maps looking for little patches of green that I can use as a provisional destinations and finding a few hidden gems along the way. There are lots and lots and I've only been to a fraction but I don't go back to work for another 4 months... Here are a few for starters.
Didsbury Park. The sun completely saturated out the film, hence the weird orange effect
Marie Louise Gardens, the most hidden of hidden gems
Is a cemetary a park? I'm going to say yes. Southern Cemetary
And lots more to come, I'm sure. There are a couple of previous posts along the same lines
