Exhibit Evaluation
The last project of the uni!
The project Exhibit was an interesting project, a step up from the short week projects we did earlier in the unit and it was a lot of work in what felt like a short amount of time.
Looking back at the start of my research, the start of my concepts I am quite far from what I pictured to be doing. I originally wanted to look into dangerous sports and reckless people, and it morphed into urban exploration and the threat it can have to yourself (being caught) and to society (exposing information for terrorists).
The project consisted of a lot of work in a short turnover, and I’m relatively happy with my end visuals. Everything was re-worked and developed, but all of my visuals like most things could have been pushed further, if there was more time and focus put behind it.
My Logo was something that was developed the most, and this project was the one that taught me how to use Illustrator a 100% better than I had ever done before. The visuals are sleek and involve a lot of white space, something I’m normally nervous about including. My Ephemera helped shape the rest of my visuals for the other deliverables, and in the end it ended up looking rather professional! My Way-finding was something I was particularly proud of, especially with the map as I spent a good chunk of time making it look the best it could. My promotion in a space was rather experimental as I was using a new tool to me in Illustrator, the visuals are rather crude but they communicated my hypothetical idea well.
As a collection, my visuals do work well, some stray away from the main visual identity but only though varying shapes and shades, the visuals work as a set and I believe that they would work efficiently in a real life exhibition branding setting.
Overall, this was a project that was educational and I learnt a lot of different things through it. It wasn’t the most enjoyable project we’ve ever had, but it was informative and a good intensive one that kept me on my toes.
