He dated a girl named penny on and off for years and there was a rumor that she hooked up with Domi before willy. also heard that she still occasionally watches his dogs. they haven’t been together in a while now.

from anon - Just sharing some info I came across online. On a X post on November 8, 2023, one of Penny's friends says she is friends with Nylander's ex, thus confirming that they did break up, see screenshot below. Then more recently on Facebook at the end of March 2025, there is a post from someone who says she knows Penny and William and that they have been in an 8 year relationship and are going strong Link here: (18) NHL Story - "Shocking Leak: Bikini Photos Spark Dating Rumors... | Facebook and screenshot below.

It is a bit disappointing to hear Nylander is with someone who doesn't sound to be very nice. As fyi, here are some photos on X of Penny before she met Nylander, she is blonde and looks quite different. It looks like she transformed herself and has a similar look to Nylander's high school sweetheart Phillipa.

seems like Penny has been slowly feeding us with hints of her being back together with Nylander i.e. her friend publicly posting photos of them at Leaf games in March and then her brother posting photos of them at Four Nations. She ran a puckbunny blog on Tumblr hers so she knows how things work and spread quickly. It is clear that the photo of Penny and Lisa (Rasmus Sandin's girlfriend) was not something that was supposed to be made public and was taken down within 1 hour, which brings me to wonder wouldn't Lisa have asked Penny if it was okay to post such a photo? Did Penny want us to finally find out by making it look like an accident? Did she get tired of waiting for Nylander to decide when and if to make it public? Did she now force his hand? Will this pave the way to her making it back into the Leafs wag public life this season and a solid part of his life? In other words, now that we know, what is there left to hide, Penny might as well be a public part of Nylander's life. It might be a bit awkward as she has dated Max Domi, not sure how that doesn't affect team dynamics in the dressing room and with the Wags. We really don't know them, but it seems like Nylander is a decent person and disappointing that this is the person he has selected to be with.

Come on now, we all know Willy and Voldemort (using this code name for lurkers) are back in that lil situationship bs they stay doing again. Willy got some projects going on and he needs his trophy piece for the visuals. There should have been a ring and 2 babies by now but no...

I think they are currently back on based off what I’ve seen but who knows if it’ll last. also let’s not start with the name calling. I don’t particularly like this girl but calling her something that isn’t her name is unnecessary. and again not everyone wants marriage or kids and everyone has their own timeline for those things!

It’s funny to me because we see that with quite a few of those NHL guys… Like they just stick with the same girl on and off. Auston and Megan (before), Maya and Matt Barzal, the Nylanders, etc…

And the thing is those guys can have any girl they want. Yet, from what we know, they settle for women who aren’t even exceptionally amazing. Like it’s not like these girl aren’t attention seekers or are nice people, etc. Like you can’t tell me that there aren’t other women out there…

With William and Penny, it’s such an extreme case if I ever seen one. Like first, the guy basically just said that he wants to reside and start his family in Sweden. Does Penny want to do that? Penny is a 30 year old woman who has her whole life in Toronto, does she wants to wait to have kids and all? While I don’t like the discourse of women having a biological clock for babies or whatever, it’s still true that it’s harder has you get closer to your 40s to have your own kids. But hey, maybe they will adopt? However, based on the NHL socio-family culture, I haven’t heard of players adopting…..

Anyway, it’s like weird on both end. Like Penny too could go and find some finance, good money making guy in Toronto who wouldn’t hide her or go on and off and all that. Like idk what it is

with nhl players I think since they’re so busy most of the year and have such a set schedule it’s easier to keep going back to someone who’s familiar and has proven already that they can handle their boyfriend be so focused on hockey 90% of the time. it’s harder to start over with someone knew and genuinely fall in love especially as they get older and are already so used to constantly going back to that specific person

as for the whole baby and marriage thing I don’t think that’s any of our business. everyone goes at their own pace, some people don’t even want that, and I’m sure that’s a conversation that has been had between the two of them as that’s a normal thing to talk about in a relationship. we don’t know them or what they want for their future or the pace they plan to go at. it’s not up to us to decide when’s the “appropriate” time to settle down and start a family when that might not even be what they want
