Even on a week long break, it seemed that Noa still was planning for the next quarter ahead or catching up on grades that were due before students were dismissed. Not that it changed a thing when it came to actually fulfilling her lesson plans, she never followed what she outlined for the administrators. So her students studied Shakespeare a little earlier than the other English classes and there were times she completely skipped over a section in favor of expanding an understanding on another subject. She described herself as a free spirit, her colleagues and students would say that she was flighty, flaky, unable to keep her focus.
It was why during the week break, Noa usually would find a small corner in a cafe and spend two or three hours grading, revising her lesson plan and giving off the impression that she was going to follow it completely. No change of mind within the first five minutes of first period. It was a solid idea but even she knew herself enough to chuckle some at the idea of it all.
She was in the zone -- or at least the set of character analysis that she had been plowing through were cohesive -- getting through the last stack of papers to grade and ready to relax for at least one day out of the week. Noa glanced up at the sound of a familiar voice and almost immediately shrunk down in her seat at the sight of the owner. Noa had no ill-will towards her but she definitely would rather not get into a conversation with the woman. Her spouse had hired Adele some time ago and every interaction Noa seemed to have with her was always terse, no matter if it was an exchange of pleasantries or getting to the nitty gritty of the business end. She did her best not to be noticed by the woman but it was too late, she was in her sights and Noa fixed her with a smile, albeit forced. “Good afternoon.” she greeted, returning to proper form. Grading would have to wait until later.
