(“The Safety Dance” was released in 1982 (or was it 1983?) and became a popular dance song in 1983 and beyond. Currently, it is considered by sites like WatchMojo, TheTopTens, etc. as one of the worst 1980′s songs of all time. I am certain that, like “Gangnam Style,” “The Safety Dance” became a meme in a way, but it is not as memetic as the former dance song...)
