Day 5: Soulmates

An AU where werewolves are the hunter and the human are preys.

Werewolves are the superior species. Humans are given the choice of accepting the bite to become a wolf themselves, with the risk of losing their humanity and die a slow painful death. Or face a life of hiding and running from the hunters.

The world is in a constant state of fear and chaos, hunters tearing down families, killing anybody who resits. Human rebel forces were formed, but they were no match to the werewolves with their super strength and power. In the aftermath, only a very few humans survived, unharmed and unchanged, but they are hunted by packs that want nothing more than to tear down the last traces of human society.

Derek Hale, the most feared hunter in the force, ruthless and loyal, he will do anything that he is ordered. His latest assignment is to hunt down Stiles Stilinski, son of one of the rebel force's leaders, who after the death of his parents, has avoided the hunter for an entire year and has destroyed a few of their camps across the country.

On the chase, Derek didn't expect Stiles to always manage to escape him in every encounter with his sharp mind and a wicked smile. When he finally catches him, a fight happens, when in the end Stiles has the upper hand.

"Don't make me do this Derek."

"It's our jobs, Stiles, to be on the opposite side."

"There is no side, we are both preys in this hunt."

Stiles holds a secret that once revealed will change the state of this world forever: Someone a long time ago has set up the whole war. This is not just simply werewolves vs humans anymore, there is something else lurking in the shadow, waiting for them to exhaust themselves before swooping in and taking the kill.

With that knowledge, Derek is now questioning his choice of where he stands in this war.

“Good. Me too.”
