母を偲ぶときでさえ、父はあくまで夫として妻を偲んだ。
長いまつげが、風に吹かれる棕櫚の葉のようにはらはらと上下した。
言葉とは、いつも遅れて到来してくるものだ。
小さな町の人たちは、みな鳩のようなものだ。あの受け身の生き物。
読書は孤独だ。ちょうど殻の中にいる牡蠣のように開いた本の貝殻によって守られている。
それぞれの詩は、ある特定の一瞬の時間を保存している。その詩を目にするとき、私はそれを書いたときの自分の意識の枠組みを見て取ることができる。
