Turns out that a P229-1 9mm barrel will fit in a P224 slide. Lock up seems OK and cycles OK but I am not going to fire it. Do so at your own risk. I do really like the long barrel subcompact concept wish they made a p229 slide with a p224 grip. I guess I can settle for the p320 which is designed to be configured in all sorts of fashions.

New Part | Sig P226

Thanks to a nice habit i got from shooting M&P’s and Glock’s, i had a tendency to accidentally hold down the slide stop lever on my P226, resulting in the slide not locking back after the last round.

I originally tried to get a slide stop lever for a P226 X-Five, from Sig, but they weren’t/aren’t selling them separately, they only have them for warranty work. That’s when i decided to ‘solve/fix’ the issue by grinding down my stock slide stop lever, and i’ve been rocking that for the last 1.5 years, with no more issues with my slide not locking back.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, i was told a P224 slide stop lever would fit into the P226, and it would be exactly what i wanted since it’s a ‘low-profile’ slide stop lever. I did some Googling and sure enough, the 224 slide stop lever is what i wanted all along, so i ordered two from Midwest Gun Works. I just got done installing one into my P226, and the other one is for my brothers P226, which i’ll install once he gets the E2 Grip Kit in.
