It wasn’t odd to find Morgan still on the pitch after training. Actually, people knew where to find her most of the time, and she could feel someone looking at her from the stands after the team left. At first she thought it was Rowan again, she wouldn’t be surprised if the boxer came from some form of entertainment, after all, history could be a tad boring at times.
However, she was surprised -pleasantly so-, to find Charlie there. Still, she couldn’t help the smile forming on her lips as she trotted to the fence.
“Hey, gorgeous! Why don’t you come join me down here?“
The evening was perfect and Morgan enjoyed the summer breeze. She wouldn’t mind spending some more time outdoors and she certainly wouldn’t mind spending more time with Charlie without anyone else around.
Hair tied up in a messy bun on top of her head, the young gryffindor sneaked out of her common room, her legs covered by black leggings that she had hoped to hopefully camouflaged her in the dark of the night. Her heart started to beat ferociously under her striped pink sweatshirt. It was so loud she was almost afraid that a wandering ghost might be able to hear her. But she got to do this, she got to get to Hansol and get her vial filled up. Yes, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.
"Hansooool, where are youuu?" A whined spilled from her pink lips as a pout escaped her, head peeking out of a pillar as she stared hard at the Hufflepuff common room, as if she could summon the boy by sheer willpower.
TAGGING → Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry
TIME FRAME → Sunday 11th August, Evening
LOCATION → Finn’s Apartment
GENERAL NOTES → A while after discussing the possibility of Rachel helping Finn plan a few lessons for the new school year, their plans finally take shape at his apartment. [Completed on Chatzy]
Finn: Finn was so glad that Rachel agreed to help him with this lesson. He really just wanted to come up with good ones and he knew he couldn't pull something like this off without her help. She was being such a good friend and stuff and he was just... he was super grateful. He heard her call out from the living room and he walked quickly out of his bedroom to help her with the books. "Hey, thanks again for coming," he said as he pulled some of the books off her pile to put on the table. "All we have to do is plan out a lesson or two and if we do it together, it'll be quick and painless," he said, cracking a smile at her.
Rachel: Rachel nodded and followed him over to the table, taking a seat next to him. "Well, if you just give me an idea of how your classes normally work, I'll certainly be able to help you. I thought I'd bring a selection of classic and modern musicals so you can show the kids a variety of music from over time. It's important to expose these children early." She was very passionate about musical theatre and had been since her fathers played her the most prominent theatre songs in the womb. Ever since then she had always hoped to be the reason someone discovered a passion for music. Rachel looked over at Finn and her cheeks were so close to blushing as she noted his smile. He was just simply irresistible.
Finn: He thought for a minute about how his classes usually go. "Well, I talk about the theme for the class and then teach 'em a little bit about it and then we do some songs that fit it. That's basically one class," he said, "You're like, a total expert on this stuff so I was hoping you could tell me about it and help me pick some good, fun songs for the kids to sing. Ones they'll like, you know?" He flipped through the sheet music books she brought and it just made him feel even better about her being there.
Rachel: "Of course," she spoke, picking up her West Side Story book and flipping to the back. "Well... It'd be best to maybe give a brief overview of the history perspective. You started off in music hall where it was a collection of random acts, including singers who would interact with the audience, and then progressing through styles that fit the period. You should probably start with something more well known. Like 'The Sound of Music' or 'West Side Story'."
Finn: Finn nodded along because she was making total sense. "Yeah, they'll definitely know those," he said, "Those are pretty much classics and they're music students so they'll recognize 'em." He looked through the music a little bit more. "They'll like singing this stuff, right? And do you have anything that's modern for 'em? I just want them to be interested and stuff. I don't wanna bore them."
Rachel: The small brunette nodded with a wide smile. "I brought a range. There's some edgier, modern music here too. 'Spring Awakening', 'Next to Normal', 'RENT'... Even a Green Day album became a musical. I feel like that point needs to be driven home. There's such a range of stuff. From opera-esque songs like those in 'Phantom of the Opera' to 80s rock in 'Rock of Ages' to grungy pop in 'Spring Awakening'... Musical theatre really can be for anyone." Rachel smiled up at Finn and hoped that all of that wasn't just an embarrassing ramble. She'd hate to embarrass herself around Finn.
Finn: Finn grinned down at her and he thought it was so cool that she was so passionate about this stuff. Like, he was passionate about teaching but it wasn't the same as the way she loved theatre. It was just awesome to hear her talk about it in such an animated way. "That's awesome. I'll do the Sound of Music stuff and then maybe some Green Day and then something in between to kinda tie 'em all together," he said. He was definitely getting more into this with her help and maybe he could get into the theatre thing too.
Rachel: Rachel glanced over at Finn and her smile instantly spread at the sight of his. He was actually interested by all this stuff! She didn't seem like a complete and utter freak like he once viewed her to be. "An excellent choice," she told him, picking up both books. "The Green Day musical is the songs from American Idiot, so you'll have to pick carefully for a school environment. 21 Guns might be good for the class..." She'd brushed up on it a little. Rachel was slightly foreign to punk rock, but she did her best to understand. Some of the music was so beautiful.
Finn: Finn laughed a little bit, "Yeah, you're right. Green Day is kinda like, really explicit so 21 Guns is probably good." This was so cool, since he was already a Green Day fan so this helped him out a lot. "This is cool, Rachel, I think the kids are really gonna like this lesson."
Rachel: "I think it's important to explore different genres of music while you're still young," she informed him. Rachel knew her passion was coming across and that Finn was actually quite looking forward to teaching these classes. "If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask... I'm yours all night." Did she really just say that? Rachel's cheeks immediately flooded with red colour and she looked down at the table.
Finn: "Yeah definitely," he said nodding as he jotted down some more notes into his planning notebook. "I think they're into a lot of different music since they like music in general but introducing this stuff do them will just add to their music knowledge," he said, "I think they'll like it. It's different and I think it sounds like a fun lesson, so we're all good." He closed the notebook and shifted to the side a little bit to face her. "I know I said this already but thanks again for helping me out with this. I couldn't have done this without you."
Rachel: Her eyes twinkled a little and Rachel just melted as he faced her. "You're very welcome Finn... I'm just glad I could help you." She paused for a little while and let the silence hang over the air before speaking again, "So... you'll need the American Idiot book, Sound of Music and... did you want anything else? You might find a couple of good duets for your... choir competitions or... school concerts... Feel free to browse..."
Finn: "You're such an amazing friend, Rach, really," he said as he took the books. "Yeah, I'll need those and I think I'll take the West Side Story one too 'cause they might know that from the movie too." He sat back and relaxed against his couch, turning his head to look at her. "The kids are gonna love this," he said, "Do you wanna hang out here for a bit?"
Rachel: Friend. How fittingly crushing. "You're an amazing friend too, Finn," she trembled in response. "West Side Story's a really great musical... We'll have to watch it sometime so you can... uh... do some more research." And the night could be semi romantic because Maria and Tony weren't meant to be but... were. She and Finn could have that if they tried. If he decided to take her out of the frienzone and see her in the light she now was in. She'd changed since high school. She was a different Rachel. A sexier Rachel. A fresher Rachel than the animal sweater-wearing, training bra-wearing, awkward girl that he knew back when she first became friends with Kurt.
Finn: He gave her a side smile before he spoke, "Thanks, Rach." He leaned back a little more and turned his head back to her. "Yeah, we totally should. I remember watching it a long time ago but I haven't seen it since. A refresher would be nice." He laughed a little, "it seems like we've been talking movies a lot lately, it could totally be our thing."
Rachel: Rachel nodded her head and laughed softly, "I guess it could be... We'll be... the friends we go to movies with!" Her heart was breaking. Yes, it had started as just a crush, but the crush never ended. It got deeper, more layered and worse. It was so difficult to manage, but she was an actress. She could handle the role of a lifetime. Finn Hudson's friend.
Finn: Finn was so lucky to have an awesome friend like Rachel and he would tell her that every day if it wouldn't be super annoying. "Yeah, we can go when new ones come out or watch old ones at one of our apartments. It'll be fun and definitely a good way to destress once school and work start back up again." At this point he was totally relaxed and could spend a lot more time on this couch with her 'cause it was so comfortable.
Rachel: Rachel nodded again and rested her hands on her lap, "That sounds like a great plan... I guess we could make a tradition of it. Whatever night you're not... running a club or detention, we can watch something before I go out to work. Or we can do weekends if we want to see a new movie." She gave him a bright smile and looked over at her pile of music, "I guess I over-prepared a little tonight..."
Finn: Finn smiled and nodded 'cause it sounded like an awesome idea and making fun plans like that was always cool. "Yeah, definitely. It'll be fun," he said. He followed her gaze over to her music and he couldn't help but laugh a little bit at what she said. "Nah, you just wanted to help. And you did and I really appreciate it so I'm glad you were super prepared."
Rachel: "I just have a lot of sheet music," she said with another small laugh. Finn looked comfortable, so she rested back a little and just watched him silently for a bit. If he'd turned around at any point she would have either been rumbled or called a creep. She'd settle for the latter, if she was totally honest. "Uh... you know, it's kind of late and... well, Kurt... he... might get worried..."
Finn: Finn just smiled 'cause yeah, she did have a lot of sheet music but he wasn't even the least bit surprised by that. He had his eyes closed but opened them back up when she spoke again. "Oh, yeah. That's okay. You don't have to stay or anything. Don't wanna worry my brother. It was fun doing this with you," he said shifting forward a little.
Rachel: The petite girl stood up and straightened her skirt out, "Well, this was a great evening... Maybe next time you can come over to mine and Kurt's apartment and... I can maybe bust out a musical and cook some food. I know-- I mean, Kurt mentioned that you really like macaroni and cheese..." She blushed slightly; collecting up the books Finn wasn't using and clutching them to her chest. "I thank--- thank you for this... If you ever need help again, just let me know..."
Finn: "Yeah, it was really great," he said, with a small smile. He walked her over to the door and opened it sorta slowly. "I do like macaroni and cheese," he laughed, "That sounds like fun and we should definitely do that. No, thank you. You really helped so much and you didn't have to. Just... thanks. And if you ever need help with someone, I'm your guy. G'night, Rach."
Rachel: He could help cure the loneliness, she thought to herself. "Thank you very much. It's been a pleasure bei-- working with you." She smiled and waved to him as she headed out to her apartment. She couldn't help but think that she'd wasted an evening where she could've really gotten some head way with him. She got to the door and pushed it open, calling out to Kurt that she was back home. It had been a longer evening than she'd expected.
