summer hadn’t expected to be so busy at work today of all days. she had wanted to go home early today because it was her six year anniversary with dylan. as a result, her mind had often wandered today to what he had in mind to celebrate for tonight. he hadn’t really told her of any special plans that he had made, and she couldn’t help but wonder if he had forgotten. he was certainly going to get a scolding if he had.
when she was finally allowed to leave, she bolted out the door and headed straight for home. she knew she shouldn’t have too high of expectations, but if there was one thing she expected tonight, it was a proposal. after six years, she wasn’t letting this day end without questioning why there was or wasn’t a proposal. opening the door, she let herself in. “dylan?” she shouted out. “are you home?”
