The debut video for Days Have Gone from Tijuana-born singer songwriter Late Nite Howl, aka Pablo Dodero, is theoretically, a found object, and musically, a warm appropriation. Director Jesus Vasquez discovered this lost footage of an unknown family while looking through discarded reels found near a photography store. The nostalgia of the song's lyrics marries the antiquity of the Super 8 montage - you almost think you are watching a young version of the artist himself. Watching the video reminds me of an untranslatable Portuguese word: saudade, which means, more or less, according to a Portuguese dictionary: "A somewhat melancholic feeling of incompleteness, related to thinking back on situations due to the absence of someone or something, or to the absence of a set of particular and desirable experiences and pleasures once lived." Sometimes I get this feeling when I look at old photos and do not recognize myself.

Enjoy :)
