It’s Fine Press Friday!
This week we step away just a bit from traditional fine press to present a portfolio of silkscreen prints by the French painter, sculptor, and founder of the Art Brut movement Jean Dubuffet who was born on this day, July 31, in 1901. Published in 1973 by Pace Editions in New York, Dubuffet’s Presences Fugaces consists of six signed and numbered prints on Dutch etching paper with a letterpress-printed title page inside a clamshell box. The portfolio is limited to an edition of 100, with 20 copies hors commerce.
Happy Birthday, Jean Dubuffet!
