Pachus
Once thought to be a savage jungle planet, the middle planet of the Juggar System, Pachus, is home to a sophisticated race of bipeds humans call Pachysapiens due to their resemblance to the Earths pachyderms, or thick skinned mammals.
There are 3 main races of Pachysapiens, the long trunked Dornu, the horned Rhyon, and the wide mouthed Garnach. All three have probably thousands of small clans spread out over the large jungly continent ranging from the low teens to the low thousands in population.
With these small independent groups that rely on a barter systems, there is no central government or currency to speak of. Similarly, since the Pachysapiens are nomadic, they have no permanent cities. That doesn’t stop insect-like Varriahs and the amphibious Hortu from establishing small towns where the dominating Pachys can rest and trade for a few days.
Communication isn’t hard for the top three species on the planet, even though the three cannot physically speak each other’s language, they each seem to understand the other. That Varriah speak with buzzes and clicks, the Hortu communicates mainly through touch and various pitched croaks. And the Pachys seem to have their own spoken language, with different dialects and certain physical cues depending on the region they’re from
With both the soil and atmospher being ripe with electricity, self sustaining technology did not take long to grasp. The planets written history, holding upwards of 5,000 years worth of information, depicts that, despite having the intelligence for infrastructure and commerce, almost all of the technological advances went towards hunting and gathering. The Pachys are armed to the teeth with blasters, advanced bows, even melee weapons, that are all 100% natural and hand made. Each weapon is made specifically by and for the user, along with the organic armor they sometimes wear.
Despite not achieving space travel yet, the Pachys may soon break through their atmosphere, which could present an issue as they are natural hunters with advanced tracking technology.
