FSC: STARSLAYER #2
In 1982, I was a huge fan of Pacific Comics, and really all of the new companies that had begun to spring up in the developing Direct Sales marketplace. These new companies and their assorted offerings excited me with the possibilities. I truly felt that I might be on the ground floor of some future Marvel, having come to that outfit far too late to have been there at its formative days. I’d…

CAPTAIN VICTORY AND THE GALACTIC RANGERS (vol. 1) #`13 (January, 1984). Cover by Jack Kirby.
The final issue regular issue of Jack Kirby's space opera for Pacific Comics. This issue concluded Captain Victory's origin, where it was strongly implied that Victory was the son of Orion of the New Gods, and the grandson of Darkseid.

WAREHOUSE FIND!
Here is a collection of six different, new, uncirculated comic books from 1981, 1982 & 1983, all released by the original upstart, four color comic book publisher, Pacific Comics who initiated their challenge to the "Big Two" – Marvel and DC – by publishing the creative genius behind both: Jack Kirby! The big difference was that both the characters and material contained in these comic books was trademarked and copyright by their creators (NOT the publishers), Jack Kirby first and foremost among them. (And, as an added bonus, there is a nice backup story by the talented [but largely forgotten] Tim Conrad in #10, the comics parable, "Rainmaker.")
The issues included in this collection are:
CAPTAIN VICTORY and the GALACTIC RANGERS #s 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 & 10
Original editions of amazing, visually spectacular, and historically significant work! At this late stage in his career, Kirby was communicating primarily through his imagery and also, crucially, through the image making. As you read these images you can feel the work pouring out of him onto paper – BAM BAM BAM.
All new copies at not much over their original 1980s cover price.

Pacific Comics (1983)
From Heritage Auctions...
No one rendered feminine beauty with quite the finesse and flair of Dave Stevens. Bruce Jones' pencils capture the whimsical heroine in a sequence that blends innocence, elegance, and quiet tragedy on this Princess Pam page, elevated by Stevens' polished inks. Stevens' crisp linework and innate understanding of form shine through in every panel, the figures as expressive as they are exquisite -- right down to the eyelashes.
